My First Cover…

Wow! I just received a look at the final cover for my first book. What a trip! I can honestly say it is very strange, not the cover, but the whole process.

Writing a book is truly such a solitary practice that after a while you forget that someday it’s actually going to be published for people to read. I know that sounds strange, but it’s true. You work so hard writing, editing, and polishing that when it comes to the book’s release it’s almost anticlimactic.

I actually can’t think of a better way to describe it. As a writer you’re not ungrateful for the attention from a publisher. It’s more like you’re amazed. After a while you get too close to a project to have clear perspective.

Maybe it’s just me.
