I was watching the news for a nanosecond this evening when I saw a story about a guy who rushed into a burning building to save his dog. Apparently after rescuing his pet the guy was arrested by police because he broke through a police barricade to reach the dog.
Now, I understand that he shouldn’t have broken through a police barricade and that there was a chance if he got trapped that firefighters could have been injured trying to rescue him. But I don’t know many people who own pets that wouldn’t have done the exact same thing. It’s like asking someone to watch as their kids go up in flames. Pet owners are adamant about their ‘furry’ kids. So I completely understand where this guy was coming from and what possessed him to ignore all the warnings and act. I have to say I’d have done the same thing and worried about the consequences later.

I also watched that same thing on the news, and wondered HOW could that be a crime? I would do it, and I am sure any other loving pet owner would too!
