Today it happened, I received my first negative mail. Let me explain, this wasn’t an e-mail stating that they didn’t like my writing or that they hated my story. That I could have handled, because you’re never going to be able to please everyone. I understand this. This e-mail was much, much worse. It was an e-mail that contained a racial slur. You’d think after all these years these things would be easier to take, but they’re not. It was like being back in grade school all over again. I guess the truth is I just don’t understand hate. I understand dislike in all its strange shapes and sizes, but I’m completely baffled by the concept of hating someone due to their appearance. I guess I haven’t come so far after all-or perhaps they haven’t.
Being married to a Native American and currently very pregnant with his baby…we get stuff like this all the time. The whole “why did you marry outside of your own kind crap”. It makes me feel better to know that they (the people that still feel this way) are is a much worst place in life than I am and that I truely am the better person.
Don’t let it get to you….they don’t deserve the thoughts or effort on your part of tring to figure it out.
I absolutely loved the 2nd book by the way…could not put it down without finishing it. I am of course looking forward to the 3rd installment.

Congratulations on your impending birth. May he be happy and healthy. Oh and on a completely different track I think you should pick up the Animatrix. It’s pretty good so far. It answers some of the questions the movie left unanswered. Although some of the shorts are a little depressing.

I mean I can’t stand how beautiful you are, but I would never send hate mail to you about it! ;0) People who hate have small minds and will never get far (in my enlarged mind) in society. The will never know the true love of a multi-faceted society!

I agree with you about small minded people. I can’t imagine not living in a multi-cultural world. What a shade of gray that would be…
