I’m reading the latest Vicki Lewis Thompson book called, “Nerd in Shining Armor.” Not only is a cute title, but it’s a quirky, cute book. The hero (a nerd) and heroine (a beauty pretending to be something she isn’t) are stranded on an island after a few terrifying events. The reason I thought about this book is because the heroine and her mother have such a wonderful relationship, much like my mother and I. I think it’s terrific if you can develop a close relationship with one of your parents. It doesn’t have to be your mom, but it’s nice if it is. I feel fortunate that my mom and I have the kind of relationship that lends itself to good communication and mutual respect. I can’t imagine the type of person I would have become without her guidence. I am truly blessed by her presence. Happy Birthday, Mom. I love you.
