Yesterday dh and I went to see Hollywood Homicide with Harrison Ford and Josh Hartlett. It was a pretty standard paint by numbers action movie with no surprises. Even so, I’d still recommend seeing the movie for the one liners spattered throughout. There are some pretty good ones that had me laughing out loud. It was also the first time I’ve ever seen Harrison Ford make fun of himself. It was worth it for that alone.

On one of the lists I belong to a good question was brought up. What would you do if you found out your best friend’s spouse/boyfriend/fiance was cheating on them? Would you tell them and risk losing a good friend? Or would you keep silent?
I have been on the receiving end of this question. Luckily it was only with a boyfriend, you know someone easily replaceable.;-) It’s never easy to hear, but I’m really happy I had a friend who cared about me enough to tell me.
This is so exciting. A group of scientists, who have found three mummies, believe one of them is Nefertiti. Of course there will be a lot of difficulty confirming the find, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Apparently they located her in a tomb known as KV35 in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings in Luxor. She was one of the, if not the, most powerful women in ancient Egypt. She ruled, along with her husband Akhenaten from 1353-1336 BC. Don’t you just wish you could’ve been a fly on that wall when it happened.
I am excited to announce I have finally finished with my vampire novel from hell, Gothic Passions. Can you tell it’s been giving me fits? I have never worked so hard trying to get a story together. The truly sad part is I’m not sure if it really is together or not. I’m going to let it sit for a couple of days and then read through it one more time. If I don’t catch anything major it is off to my editor and out of my hair for at least a couple of weeks. Yeah! How do I spell relief…F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D. LOL!
I just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks to everyone who took the time to drop me a note about my latest blog entry. The outpouring of kindness and understanding was overwhelming. Sometimes it’s just good to know that you’re not the only person to go through this kind of disheartening crap. Peace and long live diversity.
Today it happened, I received my first negative mail. Let me explain, this wasn’t an e-mail stating that they didn’t like my writing or that they hated my story. That I could have handled, because you’re never going to be able to please everyone. I understand this. This e-mail was much, much worse. It was an e-mail that contained a racial slur. You’d think after all these years these things would be easier to take, but they’re not. It was like being back in grade school all over again. I guess the truth is I just don’t understand hate. I understand dislike in all its strange shapes and sizes, but I’m completely baffled by the concept of hating someone due to their appearance. I guess I haven’t come so far after all-or perhaps they haven’t.
I’m so excited about this story. It’s near and dear to my heart. I loved these characters for their inner and outer strength. I hope everyone enjoys reading about them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
The Animatrix comes out today. I’ll definitely be picking up a copy. I have a lot of questions that need filling in after seeing the Matrix Reloaded. There’s also another wonderful DVD that will be released today. I know it got panned at the theatres, but Blue Collar Video was probably one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time. I’m talking tears coming out of the eyes because I laughed so hard kind of funny. You don’t even have to be from the South or Midwest to appreciate the humor. My dh is from Scotland and he laughed just as hard. Do yourself a favor and check these gems out.
I’ve been thinking about redoing my website. I believe it’s lacking content. I find most sites enjoyable to visit if they have clean lines and lots of content with interesting links. In fact, I’ve discovered for the most part after reading the bio of whoever put the site up I go immediately to their links page. It’s great when you make a ‘new’ discovery. I’ve even added a few of the same links to my site if I found them particularly cool. Hope you enjoy.
