What’s in a name?

I was recently going through some of the latest reviews on my Atlantean series when I came across a familiar name. Well it was semi-familiar.

Apparently there is an author using the name Jordana Winters. The only reason I mention this is because I’m a tad concerned my readers might get confused. I wouldn’t want that to happen.

So to be perfectly clear, I am NOT writing under the name of Jordana Winters.

The Flu Season Has Arrived

Yep, you guessed it, the flu has hit the Summers’s household. :-( Dh is currently out for the count and I am praying it quietly slips out the door without noticing me. Until next time…I wish you all well.

Playing in the big leagues

Playing in the big leagues conjures up different images to different people. For some it’s seeking fame and fortune, while for others it simply means a chance to compete.

I admit, when I used to live in L.A. my definition was much closer to the prior rather than the latter. After eight years and much seasoning, my perception changed. I saw people, who some would consider famous, struggle to get the next gig. It didn’t seem to matter how good they were or how many CD’s/movies they were in. Everything balanced on the next project. Watching them made me realize fame is an illusion perched on an extremely slippery slope. I want no part of it now.

What I strive for is success, and the chance to compete…in the big leagues.

Time to Take a Break

I’ve heard about the wall that some writers hit when they’ve been working too hard, but I didn’t think I’d actually smash into it myself (and going lightspeed no less). It’s time to recharge the batteries, whether I want to or not. I hope that my readers understand. Until next time…

Matrix Revolutions

Contrary to what I’ve read, I actually think Matrix Revolutions was a much better movie than Reloaded. I’m not saying there weren’t moments in the movie where I said, tell me they didn’t just do that. A couple of those moments I am still shaking my head over. At this point, I’m trying to decide if I’ll watch it again when the video comes out. It’s just hard to say. I guess the bottom line is nothing is going to top the first movie. I should have gone into the other two with that in mind.

Habits that we get into

Why is it a bad habit seems to be easy to pick up, while a good one is hard? I’ve been thinking about this lately, as one does when they’re trying to undo years of bad habits. LOL!

I think the habits we develop as children are the most difficult to change, like cleaning your plate, being messy/tidy, or portion control. For some reason breaking these kinds of habits are equal to gargling razors, except more painful.;-)

If you’ve figured out ways of breaking long standing habits, I’d love to hear how it was done. Until next time…I will write everyday…I will write everyday…I will write everyday. :-)

Enjoyable Reads

I’m not sure about you, but I tend to read several books at the same time. What book I pick up and dig into all depends on the mood I’m in at the time.

For example, currently I’m reading Christine Feehan’s Dark Melody, Lori Foster’s Jingle Bell Rock, Susan King’s Waking a Princess, Wild and Wicked by Joanne Rock, and In Hot Pursuit by Joanne Rock. I’m enjoying all these books so far.

Because I have so many books in my TBR pile I’ve started a new rule. If a book can’t hook me in the first 30 to 50 pages I put it down. I have too many books to read to waste time on something I’m not going to enjoy. I hope by sticking to this rule I’ll eventually whittle my list down to two or three hundred, instead of eight hundred books. Until next time, I wish you all good reads.

Changes…

My dh and I were reading the diary of a man who lived during the Regency time period in England. He talked about the social obligations, the King, taxes, and people who were a pain in the bottom. We’d read about twenty pages when we realized despite the advances in technology, medicine, and cultural development, the world hasn’t changed all that much. LOL!

Atlantean Heat is Out

Wow! I just found out Atlantean Heat has been released. I had no idea. I thought it would come out later this month. It’s a nice surprise. Hope everyone enjoys the first human male to encounter an Atlantean woman. ;-)
