I’ve heard about the wall that some writers hit when they’ve been working too hard, but I didn’t think I’d actually smash into it myself (and going lightspeed no less). It’s time to recharge the batteries, whether I want to or not. I hope that my readers understand. Until next time…

I found your site from posts to Lori’s message board and this comment really hit home for me!
I have a feeling many authors do travel at lightspeed too much of the time. It’s certainly true with me, which is why I’m actually home sick from the day job today with a horrible cold feeling like I can’t even lift my head from the pillow (though obviously I have since I’m at the computer!).
Yes, we need to recharge those batteries constantly. I always try to think of The Artist’s Way and making a date with myself to refill that artistic well. Unfortunately, I seem not to be able to apply the brakes often enough to do that!

Hey Alison, thanks for stopping by. I enjoy your work. :-)As for hitting a wall creatively…I think it’s hard, especially when you’re in the habit of writing, to take the time you need to walk away for a while. I know for me, I totally did this to myself. I set my schedule to be insane and now I’m paying for it. The good thing is I’m feeling better already. I used to think you had to take a couple of weeks off to recharge, but now I don’t believe that’s true. Sometimes all it takes is to rearrange your schedule and walk away for a few days. Or as you said, make a simple date with yourself specifically to recover/rebalance. Good luck with your recharge. Jordan
