Do you remember when this used to be an automatic holiday from school and work? I believe schools still get the day off, but I do remember when we had too many snow days we had to show up on President’s Day. It was either that or stay longer at the end of the year. Believe me everyone voted for going to school on President’s Day, because you didn’t want to give up a single moment of summer break. Now, unless you work for the post office, you’re lucky if you get any of the ‘old’ holidays off. Longer work years, less holiday time. Hmm…I think there’s something wrong with this picture.
