I’m sitting here staring out the window at what looks to be an impending storm. The skies are gray and the trees are swaying from a steady breeze. Why are you describing the weather for me, you ask? Well it’s one of many ways I keep from writing. I have no idea why I have to work up to it. An hour ago I made five pages worth of notes for the current story I’m working on. You’d think it would get me in the mood, but you have no idea how strong my procrastination gene is. So once again, I’m staring outside, wondering if it’s cool enough to open the windows. Until next time, may the view from your window be sunny and bright.

I can’t believe how fast this month has flown by. It seems like yesterday that my in-laws arrived for a visit and now they’re heading back to Scotland. Where did the time go? I suppose that’s the sign of a good visit, but it doesn’t make it any less sad. Dh and I will hate to see them go. (sniffle)
New Excerpt: I’ve added an excerpt on the ‘BOOKS’ page from my upcoming Kensington, Brava release.
New Article: I’ve also written an article on contests for the Romance Junkies. To view the article go to:http://www.contestjunkies.com/artman/publish/article_15.php
A couple of things for those who haven’t visited my site for a while. I started work on another novella for Kensington. This one is about a professional hypnotist, which should be fun. So far I’ve written eleven pages and it’s flowing right along. (I just started it yesterday.)
The second bit of news is I’ve added frequently asked questions under my ‘ABOUT’ section. So if you have time skip on over there and let me know what you think. Also if you think of a question I haven’t answered then email me with it and if I can I’ll add it to the rest.
Have a wonderful weekend. Post at you soon. J
I’m so excited. I finished the first draft of my second novella for Kensington today. I’m so happy to be done at least for a few days. You have no idea. I ended up with 115 pages. I’m sure that will be trimmed and molded before I’m done, but it’s such a great feeling to say ‘the end’. I simply can’t stop smiling.
I’m having one of those days where I feel unusually restless. I don’t know why. I reached my writing quota for the day. My novella is almost finished. (Will be this week, barring any unforeseen events.) I can’t seem to shake the edginess. Time to put in a good movie and read. If that doesn’t work there’s always gin and tonic. ![]()
Don’t you just love Mondays? For being one little day, it’s amazing how they can set the tone for the week. I, myself, am having a fairly terrific Monday. No, nothing in particular has happened. I didn’t receive special news or anything like that. It’s just been a smooth day. You know the kind where everything glides into place without effort. I’m grateful for those days, because they don’t come all that often. Until next time, I hope you’re Monday is marvelous. I’m off to read Wild Rain by Christine Feehan.
Today is my dh’s birthday and to make it extra special he has a twin! I’m sure we’ll be celebrating tonight and I know his sister will be doing the same in Edinburgh. I wish them both much happiness and dreams come true.
Jordan, who remembers being that age…sigh…where have the years gone?
I wanted to send a note of apology to anyone who happened to be on the EC chat list yesterday and came back today to find it gone.
As an author I was not made aware such actions were going to transpire. I’m sorry if it has caused anyone harm or emotional distress.
It is my understanding two new groups have started up to take its place. One is Readers_of_erotic_romance-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and the other is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ellorascavechat. Once again, I’m sorry for the confusion this action has caused. Best regards, Jordan
Have you ever noticed how your favorite authors can’t seem to write fast enough? It doesn’t matter if the author is prolific or writes one book every other year. You want the book yesterday.
You’d think I’d be understanding and sympathetic, but just because I write for a living doesn’t mean as a reader I’m any different. I still wait with bated breath for several authors’ next releases. It’s one of the few times I’m grateful for being a slow reader. It also helps that the authors I’m fond of whip out several books a year. Come to think of it, shouldn’t Dara Joy have a new novel out by now? ![]()
I was speaking with a friend today and he said I don’t put enough about what is happening in my life on the site. And here I thought that was all I was doing.
So I guess I’ll fill everyone in who hasn’t stopped by for a while.
Last month I received a call from Kensington offering me a three-novella book deal with a single title option. I’m currently hard at work writing the second novella for this deal. It’s over half way finished and looking good, albeit a tad quirky.
My in-laws are currently in town visiting from Scotland. We’re having a marvelous time. Other than that, I’m just waiting to receive my contract from my agent. Everything is rolling along. As soon as I have more information about the Kensington Brava books, I’ll post it here. Until next time…enjoy the sunshine.
