Off To National

Everyone is off to National. For those not familiar with the term, National is the Romance Writer’s of America Conference. I’m heading out tomorrow at the crack oh’ dawn. The time change is going to be a bear. I’m sure the conference will be fun. I hope to learn a lot from the ladies who’ve gone before me. I’ll let you know all about the experience when I return.

AQ4, Rose’s Rapture, Newsletters and other things I haven’t finished yet

I’ve received a lot of emails lately asking about Atlantean’s Quest Bk. Four: The Return (like when can we expect it) and if I planned to write more historicals. The quick and easy answer is I do plan to do both. Now for the difficult part. I have no idea when I’ll get around to finishing AQ4 or writing another historical novel. If all goes well I’ll get at least one of these items written this year. I have started AQ4, but I’m only a few pages into the story. I also have the follow up to Gothic Passions charted out, so I know how it’s going to go. I simply need more hours in the day. I do appreciate everyone’s interest in the stories. I’m glad you like the series so much. I’ve enjoyed creating my Atlantean World. I apologize for keeping you waiting so long.

The other thing I wanted to let everyone know about is my mailing list. I created the mailing list in order to send out newsletters. What, you haven’t received yours yet? You can relax, no one has because I haven’t created a newsletter. This is about to change. I’m in the process of designing a newsletter to send out. When it’s ready to go I’ll make my announcement here. Oh, and I’ll send it out too. LOL!

The Weekend

Boy, the weekend has just flown by. I spent it getting ready for next week’s conference. So much to do, so much I’m forgetting. :-O The forecast where I’m going is showing isolated thundershowers. Doesn’t that sound fun? Not to me either. Tomorrow is nail day. I just finished packing most of my clothes so I think I’m set. I’m looking forward to this conference, yet at the same time I can’t wait until it’s over. Does that make sense? I guess only to me. 😀

Bourne Supremacy

We just got back from seeing the Bourne Supremacy. It was very fast paced and probably had one of the best car chases we’ve seen in a movie in a long, long time. Very gritty. The movie picks up where the last one left off. Matt Damon as Bourne is thrown back into action when an assassin makes an attempt on his life. From that point forward, hang on. Fans of LOTR will see a couple of familiar faces. One is easily recognizable, the other we had to look up because we just couldn’t place him. Give you a hint, he was an elf. 🙂 It was definitely a fun ride. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed the first one.

The Hair is Done

One beauty item checked off the list and one to go. I got my hair done today. I should preface this by saying I don’t find a beauty salon a relaxing place. I’m sure they’re meant to be. I have several friends who love them. I’m just not one of them. I think my expectations are too high. I expect to walk out of the place completely transformed as if I’ve been on ‘What Not to Wear’, and it’s yet to happen.

One More Novella Off

Well I sent another novella off to my agent yesterday. With any luck it’ll reach him by tomorrow. I have my fingers and toes crossed that he likes this latest piece. It’s another contemporary with a fun twist. I’ll tell you more later.

Also I’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to sign up for my mailing list. I know I haven’t really done anything with it yet, but I hope to once my dh redesigns my site. Thanks for your patience.

Romance Writer’s Of America

The National Conference will be happening next week in the Big D. That’s Dallas to those of us not from Texas. It’s a chance for romance writers and industry professionals to come together and meet each other. It’s actually pretty cool. I’m looking forward to meeting my critique partner face to face and my editor and agent. I also have friends I met three years ago at the Romantic Times Convention showing up. It’ll be nice to see them again. Thank goodness we have the internet. If you’re a reader and you see me wandering past, stop and say hello. I’ll be the one with the big silly grin on her face.
