I know I talk a lot about contests, but the truth is I believe they can be extremely helpful to a writing career. Heck, I’m living proof of the fact that they work.
I’m not saying that they are infallible, they aren’t. Contests, like anything else in life, are subjective. What I like isn’t what someone else will like and that’s okay. As long as you go into a contest with that in mind, you can never be disappointed.
I miss the fact that there are very few contests I can enter now that I’m ‘published’. I suppose that’s a little strange considering every time I submit a piece of work I’m competing with published and unpubs alike. Oh well, what are you going to do?
