My 2005 writing plans are like Sylvia's. Totally dependent on whether projects I've got out with publishers at the moment are accepted. If I get a 'yes' on something, then I work out with my agent and editor what's wanted from me, and what I can realistically supply whilst balancing writing with my web design business. Basically, I have to do the things that are likely to be best financially... as I have to eat! :)

Sidonie, That's pretty much my plan. One last push for the year to set up for the beginning of next year.

You already saw mine, but again, in 2005, since my writing has grown so much stronger and is continuing to grow, I hope to complete at least 2 historical romances and two chick-lit/action/adventure novels. I'm also going to be entering into a publisher sponsored chick-lit contest and hope that I win!(fingers crossed *G*). My goals aren't set in stone, but I am working as hard as I can right now, to the end of the year to set everything up for Jan 1,2005.

Cece, Thanks for clearing that up. I started thinking it was a new 'line'. ;-) I can understand the need to work on something else, if the stories haven't garnered interest yet. It sounds like you know what you need to do, since the GH is the goal. :-) Keep at it and remember Christine Feehan had written four or five of the Carpathians before she ever sold.

Jordan bad me...that's what I call them. Bluebonnet is a fictitious town in S. Central Texas and so far everything I've written is set there. I guess that's what happens when you walk around with a whole family in your head for two years (did I say that out loud? LOL). So they're all linked but can stand alone.

I gotta admit right now I'm debating working on them or doing something NOT set in Bluebonnet (I'm feeling a little discouraged and worried about having all my eggs in one basket per se). BUT I have to finish the current one for the GH (so that's my challenge).

Hmm, my writing plans...well, WRITING-wise, I plan to finish Flat Line for and ST publisher, and I want to write at least one more novella for Brava.

As far as general writing goals, I'm making a strong push for publication by subbing one ms. and one novella to publishers, and I'm entering two mss. in the GH, and I'm querying agents. After that, not sure! *g*

Sylvia,My 2005 writing goals are not written in stone. ;) I may very well have to change things around if something sells. I had to do that last year. I'd just started AQ4 when I finaled in the Lori Foster/Kensington Brava contest. I had to stop that story and switch to finishing the novella just in case Kensington requested it. To say that was hard, is an understatement, but thank goodness I did. I was really into my Atlanteans at the time. I think that's why it's been so difficult to go back now and try to finish AQ4. I'm completely out of the mindset. Anyway, I always redo my writing schedule if something sells that way I can't beat myself up for not accomplishing everything on the list. Well I try not to anyhow. (wg)

Cece, What are bluebonnet books? I'm embarrassed to say I've never heard of them.

Teresa, I don't think it's too early to start planning for next year. I had several other things on my 2004 list that just didn't happen (by that I mean I didn't finish them). The only important thing is to have an idea of where you'd like to go with your career. Like many of you, I write for a living. I can't control whether NY buys anymore work from me. I can control the work I put together and send out. I know I can sell to the online publishers, so that's what I'm trying to organize now. I need to figure out what I'm going to write for NY and what I'm going to write for the online pubs, so that I have releases at the beginning of the year (my Bravas) and at least two toward the end of the year (epubs). I've done a horrible job at keeping my name out there this year. The rule of thumb, according to Stephanie Bond, is to have at LEAST one release a year.
