Well I’m off to the Donald Maass seminar. I’ll catch everyone upon my return. Practicing sponge exercises as we speak. See ya.

Hope you have a fantastic time at the seminar! Looking forward to reading your impressions of it.
by Wendywoo November 6th, 2004 at 5:43 amI’ll second that interest in hearing what Maas’s lessons are like in person. I’ve read both his Breakout book and fiddled with the workbook he recently released, and while I didn’t think they came across like holy writ, they at least shone a bright light on a some areas where my current manuscript needed work.

by Larissa November 8th, 2004 at 6:10 amJames, He’s a wonderful speaker to listen to because he really believes in what he’s saying. If you ever get the chance to attend a seminar, it’s definitely worth the money. From what you’ve said, I think you’ve used the workbook effectively. I am applying some things that I heard to my manuscript while discarding others. That’s the best you can hope for from any instructional book.
