I love travelling, my husband and I travel as much as possible.

My father died a few years ago in a tragic accident, but since then my mother has been to every single country that you can think of. In one year, she experienced Japan, Australia, China, Tunisia, and Egypt. She usually goes with a close friend.

What I have noticed about the few Americans that I have met, is their lack of interest in visiting other countries in order to experience other cultures. I’ve always thought this was quite bizarre.

Over here, we really look forward to getting away from it all!!

Larissa, You are brave. I’ve never tried to drive over there, unless it was the side-seat variety. LOL! I did spend almost a month in Scotland one year and thought by the end of it that I could drive there. Unfortunately, that was a few years ago, so I’m back to being frightened. *g*

I adore Mr Palin! He’s one of my heroes, and I have all his videos and can watch them again and again…

Er, us Brits get six weeks holiday? Teachers, maybe, and folks in the higher echelons of various jobs, but most working people don’t get *nearly* that much. In certain blue collar jobs, holiday leave is actually pretty stingy.

I will travel ANYWHERE! *g* I will not, however, DRIVE in strange countries. That’s my irrational fear. It’s something that has developed as I’ve gotten older. Didn’t used to bother me to drive in places like England and Greece, but now, I’m a nervous wreck.

My other irrational fear? Talking on the phone. I HATE talking on the phone. Especially with people I don’t know. I will probably never call an editor because I’d throw up. Email is my weapon of choice! *g*

Jo, I’m all for turning the tide, but I’ll let you know right now that I’m not jumping out of a perfectly functioning plane. *ggg* Hmm…what can I do that’s scary. I think mine will have to be traveling to Egypt. It will scare me silly, but I so LONG to see the pyramids and ruins of Ancient Egypt. Now back to work on that plan.
