The news from RWA National is beginning to trickle in. So far, I haven’t heard anything about the presentations, general meeting, or editor and agent appointments. The only thing anyone is talking about is the booksigning and the schmoozing that is taking place. Not sure what that says about the conference itself. Perhaps it’s too early to tell. Shrug.
Paperback Writer has some interesting market news on her site if you happen to write vampire short stories. She’s also doing a wonderful chat about writing and the business of writing. Not to be missed.
I’m in limbo. I still haven’t heard from my editor about my two submissions. (No, I’m not talking about the one that caused anxiety last Monday.) These are different stories. (wide grin) I did manage to read through my changed chapter. I still can’t decide if I like it. I do think it works better than the other version, so I suppose that’s a start. I’m going to continue on and try to get as many pages of the remaining manuscript edited as I can before six. Fingers crossed, I make quite a dent in three hours. Hope your day has been productive. I know mine has. Later gators.

It’s still early as of yet. Maybe it’s because everyone was so excited to see everyone after a years absence. *G* I know you’ll do great with your submissions! My fingers are crossed for you.
by Sienna July 30th, 2005 at 4:17 amI’ve read a few updates through literary chicks and another blog I stumbled on through Carol Burnside’s blog (and Linda’s CP checked in). OMG Chris Kessler in a sombrero http://www.literarychicks.com/archives/000265.html#more
by Cece July 30th, 2005 at 6:38 amcheck it out.
Best of luck on your submissions. I’m (im)patiently waiting for news from Nationals too. One of my best friends went for the first time, even without me *sniff*. So glad someone’s getting work done. I have a two year old crawling over the arm of my chair, hanging off my shoulders and generally causing chaos in my writing environment. Looking forward to naptime!
by Eve Jameson July 30th, 2005 at 6:56 am*crosses fingers for your subs* Sounds like you’re getting a ton of writing/editing done! I love when that happens. I need it to happen for me. Immediately. *g*
by Steph T. July 30th, 2005 at 10:00 amSienna, You’re probably right about the long absence. Thanks for the well-wishes. My editor got back to me and said she hopes to get to them next weekend. Fingers crossed it happens.
by Jordan July 30th, 2005 at 12:20 pmCece, I think he wore that at RT. I know he was in a Zoot suit at one point. The man has the prettiest eyes.
by Jordan July 30th, 2005 at 12:22 pmEve, Here’s hoping naptime comes soon.
Most of my friends didn’t go this year. They’re planning to hit Nationals in Atlanta instead. I’m not crazy about Atlanta, but I’m sure I’ll go anyhow. At this point, I’m just trying to decide if I’ll be able to make the RT convention too.
by Jordan July 30th, 2005 at 12:24 pmSteph, I’ve actually been pretty productive over the last couple of days. I finished my editing goal for the week. (I couldn’t fail Cece’s novel week challenge.
Now I have to type everything in. May productivity head your way.
