Boring, Boring, Boring.

Not much is happening today other than more edits. I finished editing the first novella yesterday, but I’m going to make one more pass through the manuscript to deepen the emotional connection and add more description. I had thought of an addition to make during the black moment, but didn’t bother to write it down because I was convinced I’d remember. BWAAA HA HA HA! Yep, it’s as gone as yesterday’s bran cereal. Shaking head. Sigh.

You’d think I would’ve learned after ALL these years that unless it’s on paper, it’s history. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I keep doing the same things, expecting a different outcome. Did you know that was the definition of insanity?

I will have at least one of these manuscripts sent off to my critique partner by tomorrow morning. I want to enjoy my Halloween weekend without the nasty distraction of work, lurking in the background. The only way I can do that is to finish the edits tonight. Preferably ALL the edits.

I love Halloween, but we don’t have any big party plans this weekend. I think we’re going to catch Zorro on Sunday and have dinner with friends on Saturday. Are any of you doing anything fun for Halloween? If so, can I live vicariously through you? 😉

  1. It’s official. I’m INSANE!!!!!!
    and loving it….

I have no plans other than to quit smoking. I figure if I tell people then I someone to answer to *g*. The kids are gone. Their step-mom loves halloween so they are getting to miss a day of school to go T&T’ing with the dad and SM =)

  2. Cece, Sounds like you have plenty of time to write then. (wg)

  3. I have no plans for Halloween. Nothing. Good luck with your edits!

  4. Teresa, Thanks! Here’s hoping someone has some cool and groovy Halloween plans.

  5. I’m going out Saturday night and I need to clean house but I’m gonna do my darndest to finish editing this novella!

  6. Jordan, I’m heading up to my sister’s house for Halloween. My kiddo will be at his dad’s house, so we are going to be there for my niece’s first Halloween. She’s nine months old and will be dressed as a lady bug 🙂 After that, the adults will be grabbing dinner and watching scary movies while we hand out candy to trick or treaters.

  7. Cece, I’m editing the final novella. I shipped the first one off to my critique partner late last night. She won’t get to it for a while, so I should have plenty of time. We’re going out to dinner with friends tonight, so I have to tidy our house too. Luckily, it isn’t too bad. A quick hoover and countertop wipe and I should be good to go.:-)

  8. Tina, That sounds fun, especially the scary movies. 😉 I wish we were doing something. Unfortunately, my best friend, who is the queen of Halloween, lives too far away for us to join their clan in the celebration. I guess I shouldn’t gripe. Last year we went to a Halloween party that was quite fun. Can’t have it every year. *g*
