Whoop There it is!

I did it! Not exactly how I’d planned, but I did it! I finished the first draft of the Blaze manuscript. Yippee!!! Yahoo!!! I feel like Daffy Duck when he bounces off the walls. I ended up writing 8525 words today. It’s a personal best for me. I was tempted to try to squeeze out 475 more, so that I’d reach 9K, but I smacked myself down before I could go for it. (Yes, I’m that obsessed with numbers when I write.)

I figured out that this week alone I’ve written over 20K. My brain hurts from all the thinking. There are four days left of November. For those participating in the NaNo (officially and unofficially), keep at it. You never know what a difference a day can make. 🙂

  1. That’s wonderful, Jordan! Congratulations. Now, um, since you’re done, could you come over and finish my first draft? Please?

Truly, what an accomplishment. You rock!

  2. Yay for finishing your ms and for such an INCREDIBLE word count. I haven’t had a day like that in probably 2 years. And I’m just as obsessed with wordcount. At least you made it over the 500 hump and didn’t end up under it. LOL. Good luck with sending it to HQ!!!!

  3. Nice work, Jordan. Congratulations. 🙂

  4. Hurrah for Jordan! *applause* And what a great day. Isn’t it nice when you surprise yourself like that?

  5. All Right!!!! (Little Snoopy dances – oops, I tripped over my pajama bottoms LOL) I’m really happy for you – Congratulations!

  6. I tend to wind down books the same way. Half the book in four months, the other half in two weeks, LOL! YAY on finishing!! Here’s to a new career as a HQ Blaze star!

  7. Congrats! I’m with you and Alison. Takes me forever to get the first 1/2 to 2/3 down then the last part flies. Not sure why. Some days I could weep because I’m so desperate to get to that last part. Once I do, I feel as if I’m done. Good job on getting those 9,000 (you were close enough to call it 9,000) words out!

  9. Congratulations, Jordan!

  10. Jo, Rolling up sleeves. I’ll be right over. 😉 Thanks!

  11. Chey, Thanks! I wouldn’t have been able to stop until I reached five hundred if it would’ve been slightly under that word count. You have no idea how hard it was not to go back in and add to reach 9K. I’m still tweaked about it. *ggg*

  12. Thanks Linda!

  13. Charlene, It is nice when you surprise yourself. I know it doesn’t happen very often for me. LOL!

  14. Thanks Eve! Watch those PJ’s. 😉

  15. Alison, Why is that do you suppose? I know I do the same thing with every book…pull teeth, pull teeth, break land speed records. (shaking head)

As for HQ, from your lips to their ears. (wg)

  16. HelenKay, Thanks for giving me the bump in word count. 😀

  17. Thank you, Maddie. Not sure about the inspiration part, but it was kind of you to say. (((Hugs)))

  18. Thanks Raine!

  19. Woohoo!! Way to go!!

  20. Thanks Trace!!!

  21. Congrats Jordan! There’s nothing like a finished project to lift your spirits! 🙂

  22. Tina, Thanks! You’re right, there isn’t. 😀

  23. Big congrats.

Though I find 8000something words a day a bit scary. I did 200 last night. *grin*

  24. Gabriele, LOL! It scared me too. 😉

  25. Congrats jordan! Thats fabulous!

  26. Thank you, Cece!!!
