Waiting For UPS

I thought I’d create an entry that didn’t evoke so much thought. *g* I’m currently waiting for my UPS guy to come. I just got back from the gym and I’m in desperate need of a shower, but I know the second I step under that spray the doorbell will ring. So until he arrives, I’ll just sit here and fester.

I’ve edited the first hundred and thirty something pages of my manuscript. I’m going to read through it today and then send it off for an outside opinion before I go any further. Atlantean’s Quest Book 4: The Return arrived in my inbox the other day. I need to print it out and edit it sometime over the next week. And my critique partner should be sending me my historical vampire/gargoyle on Saturday. Face meet desk.

What are you all keeping busy with?

  1. I’m working on a couple of stories, and if they pawn out, I’ll be sending them to Whiskey Creek: Spring Flings due on Dec. 15 and Aphrodite Unlaced: Champagne & Chocolate Contest due on Dec. 23. Then I’ll get back to the short story I wrote way back to the Vamprotica. I did the edits according to the 1st. and 2nd. round of critiques. But since I’m adding some scenes that ended up in the “cutting file,” I might need to work on it a bit more. Then it’s off to whoever wants to be my victim and critique it. *LOL* After that I’ll edit a bit more, and off will go to the Amber Heat Wave Contests 2006 due on Jan. 15. That is if the moving to the new house doesn’t interrupt me too much. I expect the man to finish laying out the tiles on 2nd. bathroom wall by next week. Then I need to hose the house, from ceiling to floor, before I move. So maybe the super-cleaning time will take away from writing. Ugh!

  2. Getting the house ready for my SIL to move in at the end of December, getting said house ready for company Sunday evening. Oh, and there’s something called Christmas coming up - guess I’d better get ready for that too. I sure will be happy to “do” once I get all of these “get readies” out of the way!

  3. Silma, Wow! That’s a lot on your plate, but it’s wonderful. It sounds like you have solid plans for the next few months at least. Good luck with the contests. I hadn’t heard about those that you mentioned. :-)

  4. Eve, I hope the transition with the SIL goes smoothly. I don’t think anyone is ever truly ready for Christmas, except maybe the stores. *ggg*

  5. Well…I cleaned out the garage *ggg* and my closet and bathroom.

  6. Cece, You’re on a roll. ;-)
