Lovely Time

Christmas was a sheer delight this year. We wish we could’ve spent it with family, but alas it wasn’t possible this year. Instead, we were invited to dinner at our df’s house. They put on a fantastic spread. We ran out of room long before we ran out of food. 🙂 Merry making was had by all. A little too much on my end and I’m feeling that overindulgence today.

Santa was very good to me this year. I received many of the things I’ve wanted for quite sometime and a few surprises. I have one of those surprises in my earlobes at the moment and they’re quite the sparklers. (wg)

The rest of this week shall be spent doing the usual ‘out with the old and in with the new’ cleaning ritual, going to the movies, and enjoying the gifts.

How was your holiday? Were you surprised by a gift?

  1. Do you ever feel, just.. overwhelmed by all the abundance of the holidays? Abundance of FOOD and wine and gifts and people and fun and parties and and and..

Santa treated me well, I have a new (used-new!) Toyota Highlander in the driveway!!!! (our family has been needing an off road vehicle for our camping/biking/hiking hobby, for a while now!) It’s got a bike rack on the back so I can join our hiking club’s bike rides starting next week!!

Today I am totally wiped out, though, and spending a nice quiet day AT HOME with NO PEOPLE, NO EVENTS, NO OBLIGATIONS! WOOHOO.

OOohhh.. I can just see those sparklers in your ears! yummy!!!!

  2. Maddie, I think the holidays in general seem to promote overindulgence of ALL kinds. It doesn’t seem to matter how good your intentions are going into them. Congrats on the SUV and enjoy your quiet time. 🙂

  3. Sounds like you had a great time, Jordan. Jewelry is always a plus, huh? – lol

My son and I have a tradition every Christmas. One of my grandmothers was going blind when he was born, and for years we took her to a movie every Christmas (big screen, ya know) – always a comedy. And after she passed away, he picked up the tradition and treated Mom to a movie. That started when he was about five or six – he’s now twenty-nine. So no matter what else we do, the shared movie is always on the agenda.

    Have a good week.

  4. Sunny, What a wonderful traditions. That’s so sweet.

  5. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas. Hmmm what did I get for Christmas that was unexpected? Well I did get one thing but received it way before Christmas. A brand spanking new computer to replace my old one that decided. My sister and her family gave it to me last month. I dont know if that counts but it was a wonderful gift since I was wondering how I would get one.

  9. Hey Jordan, sounds like you had a great Christmas. I too had a grand time with my family. I didn’t receive anything unexpected…which is all right, I did get to talk to my friend Sasha on the phone though…so that was cool! And I although we say we don’t want her to, we secretly wish she would scan her butt!!!! LOL
