Titles are approved

My EC editor, Bree wrote me today to tell me that my titles for the Phantom Warrior series have been approved. Yah!!! Bacchus and Saber-tooth welcome to the world of ebooks. *g* I edited/added 4K to Bacchus’ story to make it novella length. Saber-tooth will be an EC Quickie. Now, I’m just waiting on the contracts.

Today, I mailed off a copy of Revenge of the Sky Goddess to my agent. I thought he might like to read it too. 😉

I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do with my category length book, Rose’s Rapture. It needs editing and some additions to address a few of the problems that my critique partner brought up. (For example, what to do with the sneaky gargoyle who’s trying to take over the story.;)

Tomorrow the cleaners come, so I’ll have to tidy before they get here. I hope everyone is having a productive week. If you haven’t caught Jo Leigh’s Romancing the Blog entry on fear, do so now.

  1. I have no idea what to do with sneaky gargoyles – I only had brothers.

Jo’s post was excellent – made me think about some things and examine just what the heck I’m doing.

  2. LOL Jordan. I have to clear stuff off the floor for the cleaners coming tomorrow too.

  3. Yay on getting the titles accepted! As for cleaning, I did the “big one” back in December. Hosed the whole house inside and out. It took 7 hours to do the whole cleaning, but it sparkled. And I can proudly say that I’ve been able to keep it. As for Jo Leigh’s article in Romancing the Blog, it’s something that I’ve been reading about in Donald Maass’s book. Something about a writer’s middle-stage career and how sometimes it sags. (Just like those sagging middles in our stories.)

  4. Jordan: Congrats on the titles being approved! And I’ve got lots of practice wrangling stubborn gargoyles from Stone Maiden and now Fire Maiden – so I feel your pain 🙂

Thanks for linking to Jo’s Romancing the Blog entry – GREAT information. I know I have a bad habit of letting fear impact me or slow down my career. It’s something I constantly fight against. Glad to know I’m not the only one either!

  5. Eve, I thought Jo’s post was excellent. Definitely gave me a lot to think about. As for the gargoyle, I plan to add a ton to the story to hopefully balance it out, since he took over and nearly wiped out the original love story.

  6. May, Isn’t that funny? I run around the entire house, trying to make it ‘look’ okay for them. *ggg*

  7. Silma, Thanks! And good for you for taking on the house. I’ve done that before and it takes a tremendous amount of time.

I don’t think Jo’s article was about a sagging career. In fact, it was just the opposite. She addressed being in a good place with her career and how one unanswereed submission (in an area she doesn’t normally write in) threw her self-confidence for a loop. She allowed the fear to keep her from submitting that partial again. The blog entry talks about how she plans to kick fear to the curb and rectify her mistake.

  8. Thanks Tina! Yes, you do have experience with gargoyles. 😉 As to the entry at Romancing the Blog, I think fear’s always going to happen in a writer’s career. It’s unavoidable, when you put yourself/your work out there.

  9. Congrats on the titles! (I’m going to browse the rest of your website to see if you have any info on the series, but just in case you don’t, do we get any teasers??)

  10. You have *a lot* in the works. Congrats on the titles, good luck with the books, and hope your agent enjoys the novel you’re sending him!

  11. Sharon, I don’t have anything up at present about the Phantom Warriors, but I plan correct that soon. I’ll definitely have teaser excerpts on the site.

  12. Chey, Thanks. Yeah, it sure feels like it. I’m trying to take a page from your book and get a bunch of stuff together ahead of time so that the rest of my year isn’t quite so hectic. *ggg*

  13. Wow, Jordan that is fantastic news! I’m so happy for you. 🙂 You should definitely be proud of your accomplishments. I look forward to hearing about your continued progress. I’m progressing right toward finals again. Just a couple more weeks.

  14. Yay on the titles being approved! Hmm, what to do with a snealy gargoyle? Have him bronzed, lol?

  15. Thanks Shannon! Finals are nothing to sneeze at. I remember them fondly…along with the ulcer that they gave me. *ggg*

  16. Jan, Thanks! That’s a funny suggestion, since he kind of does that to someone else. *g*
