Maili, I agree that Macs aren't cheap. They have a corner on their little market and they take advantage of it...which is why there are more PC sales in the world. I'm going to hold off because I've heard there's a new operating system that has just gone Beta at Mac and when they officially release it, the last of my PC vs Mac problems will be solved. (Well all but the cost.;)

Ack. I admit I'm anti-Mac [tried Apple II, iMac, PowerBook, and a G4 Mac]. I have worked with all platforms, ranging from Linux to Mac and from Window CE to Window Vista [yes! the new one!], and I like Windows best because it's most flexible whereas Mac is ideal for people who prefer the 'plug-and-go' approach. IMO, the biggest problem with Mac and its software is it's so bloody expensive! And it's not always user-friendly, I think.

Cece, I'm surprised it bothered you too if you're 5'6. That's strange, but you have to use what works for you. You can't afford to be uncomfortable at your desk.

Sasha, Some of the programs definitely have me intrigued. I think I could get a lot of use out of them. It'll probably be another month before I buy anything. I have to pay for the RWA conference first. :)

I switched from PC to MAC two years ago, because of stability issues and such. I wanted a computer that I coudl depend on, and really, I only neede it to write and playonthe internet. Then last week I decided I wanted another laptop, and I baught the new ibook G4. (also a MAC) and it Rocks!!
It could be that I'm so much more inlove with it than the first because I actually know more about using a MAC than I did when I first got the desktop, but it really truly has some fantastic programs on it. I say get a Mac. *grin*

Thanks Cece! Right now I have a 19 inch monitor. It's very nice and is easy to work on. The difference between this one and the Mac is obviously the extra inch, but also the cinema display. It makes quite a bit of difference. I'm 5'7, so I don't have a height issue.

Jordan...not sure how much this matters but I got a new 19 in monitor at work. You wouldn't think 2 inches would make much of a difference but it's also a bit higher and it took me a while to get used to it. My co-worker (who's real short) had to get a 20 in sony monitor becasue they sat lower than the Dells......Take all that FWIW which may be nothing =)

Silma, I'm looking at the 20 inch monitor. I'd get a bigger one, but they don't have it in the machine I want. *g*

Oh, I love Apple Macs!!! My first computer was a Mac, back in 1989. One of those with the 9" monitor. Totally cool! *lol* Since I deal with graphic-creating softwares, no other computer beats a Mac.
