Busy, Busy Day

I spent the day going over the first three chapters of my urban fantasy. I’m sending out queries, so I wanted to be sure it was the best I could make it. Talk about time consuming. :-O

I just heard back from one my readers/critique partners about the Blaze. She loved it. Thank the stars. I have one more to hear from and then this sucker is going in the mail. Woo Hoo!!!

Tomorrow we’re going to see Pirates again. Can’t wait. A friend of mine is planning to join us. She hasn’t seen it yet, so that should be fun. :D I plan to finish typing up queries when I get back, then read through contracts for the Phantom Warriors.

Next week will be busy as I get ready for Nationals. I plan to take a ton of notes and will report back with my findings. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

  1. Woohoo! Good to hear they liked your Blaze story. *g* I’m hoping to see Pirates 2 tomorrow. Gosh, everyone has seen it but me, and I feel so left out. *lol* Last night I even sat down to watch the first one on DVD. I can’t get enough of Jack Sparrow! He has so many good one-liners. *g*

Oh, good, for those of us unable to go! (I’d be interested in hearing how ‘legitimate’ erotica is suddenly becoming…)

  3. Tempest, We’re leaving to see it again shortly. *ggg* You need to get yourself to the theater. :)

  4. Raine, Snort. Yes, it should be interesting. I’ll let you know what I find out. Personally, I think the erotic romance market is on a down turn. I just don’t think it’ll show up until the end of 07. By then, it’ll be well and truly saturated. :-/

  5. I’ll BE there in Atlanta but will most likely still check back with you, because you take fabulous notes! - lol

  6. Yeah Sunny! Thanks. :D Someone else who can take notes too.

  7. Glad the crit partners liked your Blaze, I’m sure it rocks! I’ll be sure to hit you up for a copy of those great notes from Nationals :)

  8. No problem, Tina. I take it that means you’re not going this year..? :(

  9. Nope, not going. It’s one of those Murphy’s Law things. Last year I got little value out of Nationals other than networking since I was pubbed with a non RWA recognized publisher. So, I put all my money into RT. Then of course when it was too late to change my vacation schedule etc, Triskelion became RWA recognized, I got an agent and also sold to Kensington and everyone wanted to meet with me at Nationals. Sigh… I’ll be there next year…lol.

  10. WhooHoo on the Blaze!

And I haven’t seen Pirates either - probably won’t until DVD, but miracles can happen.

    Looking forward to your notes.

  11. Tina, Oh no…(((Hugs))) I did the same thing, but the opposite. I decided not to go to RT because I had so much to work on. I figured by the time Nationals rolled around more things would be settled. HA! Nothing is settled. (shaking head) The only things I’ve managed to do is get two and a half books written and partials submitted. :(

  12. Bailey, I hope you can make it to the theater. It’s so much better on the big screen. :) I’ll take the best notes I can. ;)

  13. Don’t the queries take forever! I always think: “I’ll just polish this up.” Ha! Hours later, still at it. I suppose it’s a good thing. ;)
Will be looking forward to your reports from RWA.

  14. Saskia, I have to force myself to just walk away after I’ve gone through something so many times. Seriously. I can pick and pick forever if I don’t.
