Today is my niece’s 4th birthday. Happy Birthday, baby. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag! We love you.
We had a nice visit with my brother and sister-in-law. Our other niece is getting so big. She’s turning into a true beauty both inside and out. Her mom and dad have both quit smoking and lost a ton of weight. Seeing what they’ve accomplished was quite inspirational. Reminded dh and I that we need to get our big butts in gear. *ggg*
Today dh’s aunt and uncle arrive. His mom and dad are still here, renting a nearby flat. I’m currently doing laundry (the story of my life as of late) and trying to get my paragraphs written. Sigh.
Had a nice surprise in the mail on Sat. Jo Leigh sent me her new book Relentless. I cannot wait to dive into it. Thanks Jo! You’re the best.
For those of you who haven’t purchased it yet, what are you waiting for? Scoot!
I found out from a dear friend that the cover to Bad Boys Over Easy is up for worst cover on AAR’s cover contest. I’d like to thank the academy for this unexpected honor. *ggg* Next could you nominate Wicked Women On Top. I could use the bump in sales. ![]()

Hey, congrats on the nomination.
Good luck with all the family–funny how you call an apartment a flat. DH rubbing off on you?
by Cheyenne McCray October 16th, 2006 at 10:50 pmWorst cover? You’re kidding.
I actually think it’s kinda cute, in an omelet-sorta way. ;-D
No, really–my goodness, I’ve seen covers that make me want to go hug my teddy bear, and this ain’t one of ‘em. Wonder what criteria they used?
by raine October 16th, 2006 at 10:50 pmI followed the link and I’m pretty surprised at the nominations, yours included. I’ve seen far worse covers than these, and some of them are really cute. Maybe it’s an anti-cute nomination?
by Charlene Teglia October 17th, 2006 at 5:23 amI’m glad the book got there, and I hope you enjoy it. As for the cover contest, I was really stunned at how terrific some of the category covers were. Wow. As for Bad Boys Over Easy? I think it’s cute.
by Jo Leigh October 17th, 2006 at 6:56 amI thought some of the covers in Worst Cover were actually good. I hated some of the ones in other categories though. It’s odd but really I don’t judge a book just by its cover. There have been some hot covers with no good content inside them. I usually skim the first two chapters to decide whether I even like the characters enough to buy the book.
by Shannon October 17th, 2006 at 9:18 amChey, *ggg* In the past month, I’ve hung out with eight Brits. At this point, I’m amazed I don’t have an accent. LOL!
by Jordan October 17th, 2006 at 9:56 amRaine, No idea, but it’s nice publicity.
by Jordan October 17th, 2006 at 9:57 amCharli, LOL!
I suppose it could be. I know my list would’ve looked a little different.
by Jordan October 17th, 2006 at 9:58 amJo, I was too. I did look through the other covers and some of my favorites on the page were the category entries. Thanks again for the book.
by Jordan October 17th, 2006 at 9:58 amShannon, A cover will grab my attention enough to read the blurb, which is its purpose. If the blurb doesn’t grab me, a good cover won’t save it.
