I spoke with my agent yesterday about the changes that I’ve made to the urban fantasy. We’re hoping that I can get the publishers an updated version. I REALLY hate doing that, but I feel that this version is so much stronger than the original. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.
With that in mind, I decided to read through my newer version last night. Big MISTAKE. By three in the morning, I’d finally managed to finish my ‘tweaks’ and check the changes. Sigh.
This morning I received an email for a cover request from Ellora’s Cave for Atlantean’s Quest: Fall From Grace. I don’t want you all getting excited yet. No one has given me an update as to when this paperback (which includes Atlantean’s Quest 3: Redemption, Atlantean Heat, and Atlantean’s Quest 4: Return) will be released. As soon as I have more information, I will announce it here first.
I’m off to do my Japanese and row. Hopefully when I am finished, I can get more work done on the urban fantasy…or take a nap. Whichever comes first. Have a great day.

Good luck with the new book, Jordan! I know that’s hard to do, sending a revised version, but having the strongest one out there is the best thing.
by Suzanne December 2nd, 2006 at 4:44 amSuzanne, Thanks! That’s what I’m hoping. These last two manuscripts have been the hardest to wait for, since they’ve been my biggest risks.
by Jordan December 2nd, 2006 at 12:16 pmHaving just gone through the same thing with rewrites, I have my fingers crossed that you can make the changes and send the revised ms. into the editor.
L&H,
by Julia Templeton December 2nd, 2006 at 5:37 pmBest of luck with the Japanese. I have to say I’m impressed how much time and effort you’re putting into learning the language. You have more patience than I do.
Julie
Julie, I managed to get the updated version into the editor’s assistant. Don’t know if it’ll make any difference in the outcome, but I do feel better about this version. I know you’ve been working hard on your chapters. Here’s hoping that you get them mailed off on Monday.
As for the Japanese, I’d actually put in this much effort wherever we traveled, if the language was different. It didn’t work when I went to Amsterdam. (Didn’t have enough time.) But I think we’ll be at least kiddie level by the time we get there.
