I received some fun news this morning. Apparently, my book cover for Phantom Warriors: Bacchus has been nominated for a CAPA (scroll down the page) at The Romance Studio. Yah! I love that cover.
I’ll find out if it wins on Valentine’s Day. Now to get to the real topic of this post.
I’ve cut this part of my blog entry because I realized after dh read the entry that I wasn’t being clear and I didn’t want my words misinterpreted. With that in mind, I’m going to share a link I swiped from PBW. It goes out to everyone who visits my blog. I hope you view it in the spirit with which it was intended. Merry Christmas!
December 23rd, 2006

I guess I thought the problem was the other way around–people who celebrate Christmas being offended by Happy Holidays because it takes the Christ out of Christmas.
But it still doesn’t make sense to me because holiday means holy day, so if it a religious issue, isn’t someone wishing you a Happy holy day a good thing?
Really, if I know someone is easily offended then I spend as little time chatting as possible!
In the interest of good will and peace on earth, you can wish me a happy(any holiday) and if you hit the wrong one I won’t be even a little offended.
by BeccaFurrow December 23rd, 2006 at 2:40 pmThanks Becca! Happy Holidays!

by May December 23rd, 2006 at 2:49 pmA regular customer of mine came in for routine maintenance on her Mitsubishi. When finished, I wished her a Merry Christmas, and she wished me a Happy Solstice. She didnt seem offended; and if anything, I was more than happy with her offering. Ive never been wished a Happy Solstice before; but she lives in Berkeley, and there are no stranger places on earth.
by BernardL December 23rd, 2006 at 2:57 pmMerry Christmas, May!!!
by Jordan December 23rd, 2006 at 3:00 pmBernard, How very cool! I wouldn’t have been offended either. Yes, Berkeley is its own little world. *ggg*

by Charli December 24th, 2006 at 1:02 pmCharli, It was just a mini-rant about not being able to say Merry Christmas without feeling like I’m going to offend someone. I just didn’t want it to turn into a religious discussion because that wasn’t what I meant by the post. Merry Christmas!
