I’ve decided to ignore all the flame wars that seem to have cropped up over the last few weeks and focus on the spirit of the season. It’s been a bountiful holiday here at the Summers’ house. Most of my family elected not to give me ‘book’ related items (something about me always asking for those type of things *ggg*). Instead, I received a TON of DVD’s, which is quite cool. It was almost an even split between musicals and monsters. *wg* I have hours and hours and hours of viewing entertainment ahead of me.
Dh surprised me on the X-mas front. He got me a new computer. YAH!!! Not that there was anything wrong with my old one, but it was a little on the ’slow’ side. When we return from Japan, I’m going to get a new monitor. It’s going to take me a while to get used to the new version of Outlook and Word. They have quite a few more bells and whistles.
I’ve saved my favorite gift for last. My dh and I have played this game at several arcades and enjoyed it so much that he decided to get us a home version. What am I talking about? Dance, Dance Revolution, baby. If you’ve never had the chance to play on one of these machines, I have three words for you: Prepare to sweat. LOL! I love it. We spent an hour on the thing yesterday and were both drenched. Great exercise and even more fun.
I hope Santa was kind to everyone out there. What’s your favorite gift?
December 26th, 2006

My favorites came from my guy and the kids: a vegetable chopper, coffee maker and spice rack with pop-up-top bottles, all specially designed for the handicapped cook. No more will I have to ask someone to dice an onion, lift a coffee pot or open the oregano for me. Bliss!
The funniest gift came from my Mom. It’s a t-shirt in my favorite shade of gray, and reads on the front: “Careful, or you’ll end up in my novel.”
by PBW December 26th, 2006 at 9:26 pmI LOVE that idea for a t-shirt, lol!!
My favorite gift? A book written by and about one of my favorite actors ever, Peter Falk. Title?
“Just One More Thing…”
by raine December 26th, 2006 at 10:20 pmI’ve seen those games but never palyed it! Always wanted to though. I bet that will be ablast!!
Merry Christmas, Jordan!!

by Sasha December 26th, 2006 at 11:05 pmMy fave gift is either the customeised built in (and already installed by Dad and Brother) closet organizer, and new doors for said closet, and entry way closet of Condo…or Season on of Supernatural onDVD. *grin*

by Amie December 27th, 2006 at 8:31 amOh, dancing sounds fun! I can’t pick a favorite present, I love them all.
by Charli December 27th, 2006 at 10:55 amGlad you had a nice Christmas!
by Larissa December 27th, 2006 at 12:51 pmMy favorite gift was from my husband — a diamond and emerald claddagh ring! *g*
You’re dance game sounds so cool.
We’re drowning under DVD’s too, including the first 3 seasons of X-Files that we’re slowly making our way through.
My favourite gift is from ds. A new girlie-girl pink, Razor flippy cell phone. *g* My old cell was driving me crazy because buttons would get pushed accidentally while it was in my bag. >:-(
Great T-shirt, PBW.
by jaq December 27th, 2006 at 1:38 pmActually my favorite gift was one I gave to my husband. I bought us two plane tickets to Europe. We’re going in March for 2 1/2 weeks and I’m going to show him what London and Paris are really all about. He’s never been to either city and since I used to live there I think it’s fitting he takes me along as a tour guide. We haven’t set our itinerary just yet but I know he’s beyond excited to go.
by Shannon December 28th, 2006 at 1:33 pmI loooove the DDR!!! I used to be obsessed with it when I lived in San Francisco. They had these incredible DDR tournaments where these dudes would show off their freestyling moves and synchronized DDR routines and everything. It was amazing!
My favorite gift…I guess my new iPod, since I am now attached to it as if it’s bonded with the skin inside my ears.
by Catherine Morris December 28th, 2006 at 2:43 pmOkay, it’s official. I want to set up a play date at your house. Seriously. You just have to promise not to laugh when I dork out doing Dance Dance.
by Jo Leigh December 28th, 2006 at 3:23 pmPBW, That was so nice of your kids and dh. Very thoughtful. The shirt is classic. Only ‘Mom’ would think of something like that.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:47 pmRaine, I love Peter Falk too. Columbo is one of my favorite detectives.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:48 pmSasha, The game is a whole lot of fun. So much so, that I can barely move today. *ggg* The closet sounds wonderful. I wish someone would do that with mine. It sure could use it.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:49 pmCharli and Amie, There has to be one present that stands out.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:50 pmLarissa, The ring sounds beautiful.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:50 pmJaq, I have to get me a new phone very soon. Apparently, my provider has decided to do away with my ‘type’ of service. They even said my phone won’t be usable. I know it’s old, but come on. *ggg*
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:52 pmWOW Shannon!!! Great gift. You guys are going to have a blast. I haven’t made it to Paris yet, but I’ve been to London on several occasions. Dh used to live there, too.
Have a wonderful time. Grab a fish and chips for me.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:54 pmCatherine, Aren’t those kids amazing? I’m not expecting those kinds of miracles, but I do have a good time. *g* I believe congratulations are in order for you on your recent engagement. May that be the first of many joyous moments to come.
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 5:55 pmJo, I’d welcome you anytime.
As for making fun of you, honey, I’m the QUEEN of uncoordinated. LOL!
by Jordan December 28th, 2006 at 6:00 pmI’m keeping a straight face as I envision you dancing away for hours at a time on your new gift. I expect you to have some new moves come RT ;).
I had a great Christmas! My favorite present had to be the gift card to North Bonneville resort, a place dh and I love to go and relax. Think mineral baths, massages and a hot tub room on a private balcony that looks out into a beautiful forest. The restaurant is first rate, too. That resort is our little slice of heaven, and I can hardly wait to use the gift certificate.
by Julia Templeton December 28th, 2006 at 9:35 pmI love watching the kids do the Dance Dance when we go to the theater at the mall. It’s amazing! Best gift this year: the household one: a new dig camera with printin deck that is easy to use (so I can finally take pictures!), and tied with a soft fleece robe from my sister in law paired with comfy socks, a bottle of red wine and a small box of Godiva. I returned from a long trip yesterday to that theme gift, which really helped to relax me after the drive!
by Ursula December 29th, 2006 at 10:18 amJulie, Don’t hold your breath on the new moves. LOL! (wg) The resort sounds so wonderful that we may have to check it out some day.
by Jordan December 29th, 2006 at 12:21 pmUrsula, It’s amazing what a little red wine and chocolate can do for a person’s mood.
by Jordan December 29th, 2006 at 12:22 pmAwww, thanks, Jordan! (Just now checked back on this comments page, and saw your congrats for our engagement.) I’m very excited and proud and happy.
by Catherine Morris January 2nd, 2007 at 11:54 amCatherine, You know it’s heart felt.
Congratulations! May you have many, many happy years together.
