I’d like to take a moment and apologize for my mental absence. Not sure what’s up with me, but I haven’t been able to concentrate on much of anything and that includes my blog. I have so much to do that I’m not sure where to start. That fact made me all the more grateful for Charli’s blog entry today. If you’ve been feeling the same way, you definitely need to check it out. It gives some great advice.
PBW had an extremely scary entry the other day. I’m not sure what it’s going to mean for the blogging world as far as book recommendations are concerned, but it’s not pretty. I guess I’ll have to add some kind of disclosure to my website. Sigh.
I received the cover for Atlantean’s Quest: Fall from Grace. There are some problems with the back cover copy. Once it’s fixed, I’ll post the book cover. I think they did a pretty good job, considering it represents three books, Atlantean’s Quest: Redemption, Atlantean Heat, and Atlantean’s Quest: Return.
Yes, I know. I’m a tease. *ggg*
Has anything cool and groovy happened to anyone this year? I know we’re only a few days into 2007, but I’m already hearing about book deals.
January 3rd, 2007

Glad you found my tricks helpful, Jordan! And I’ve got my first contract of 2007 in hand. My tabloid inspired alien abduction tale will appear in Ellora’s Cavemen: Seasons of Seduction!
by Charli January 3rd, 2007 at 6:45 pmHey Jordan, can’t wait to see the cover! Book deals already? I figured it would be well into February before we started hearing stuff.
by Patrice Michelle January 3rd, 2007 at 7:45 pmOh, and you’re an awful tease. I want to see that cover!
by Charli January 3rd, 2007 at 7:46 pmCharli, Congratulations!!!
by Jordan January 3rd, 2007 at 7:52 pmPatrice, I did, too. I’ve already heard about one deal and Charli makes two. I saw the Meme on your site. Why I oughta…*ggg*
by Jordan January 3rd, 2007 at 7:53 pmThe cover will post soon, Charli. Hopefully I’ll get the revised version within the next couple of days.
by Jordan January 3rd, 2007 at 7:54 pmTease!
by Bailey Stewart January 4th, 2007 at 6:46 amGuess I’ll have to put some sort of disclosure on my review site. 99% of them are books that I’ve bought myself, and I never, ever receive compensation for the other 1% (a peek at my bank account would prove that one *gg*)
Bailey, I hear you. I buy pretty much everything I have and talk about. Three quarters of the time I don’t even know the authors. Sigh. It’s ridiculous. And don’t even get me started on compensation.
by Jordan January 4th, 2007 at 12:12 pmYou know, I’ve had spammers hijack my email like eight times in the last year, I get horribly disgusting spam and comments - so much so I’ve had to restrict and moderate my board and my blog comments and THIS is what the FTC is dealing with? Eye roll.
One of the best things about being a writer is knowing other writers and trading books. When I talk about books, I’m not paid to. I talk about them because I love them and I love to turn people on to new books and authors.
Oh, can’t wait to see your new cover!
by Lauren January 4th, 2007 at 12:21 pmLauren, I hear you. I have some dumbass that goes by jackass@wallasasa.com, who keeps signing up for my mailing list. I have no idea what he thinks he’s accomplishing (and I have no doubt it’s a he), but it’s annoying the shit out of me.
I do the same thing, when I read a book that I enjoy. I just don’t see how that’s going to be enforcable.
