I also visited Jeaniene’s blog, where she discusses the merits of being a bitch and why that isn’t a bad thing. What can I say? I’m feeling ‘attitudy’ today. *wg*
There are surveys about racism in publishing and blogs that have followed up on the sh*t storm that topic stirred up. I debated whether to link to the sites, but I’ve decided against it. Not because I don’t think it happens. I do. But my attitude is that I am part of the HUMAN race. You try to pigeon-hole me otherwise and I WILL call you on it. Don’t like my take on the subject. There are other blogs that you can read. Buh-bye.
Writer tip for the day: Always start your story out with dialogue or action. If you insist on opening with discription, make sure those first lines (and this is true for dialogue and action too) grab the reader by the throat.
And now finally a bit of good news, friends of ours, J & M got engaged the other night. It was fast, but not surprising. They are the perfect ying for the other’s yang. Congratulations! May you continue to make sweet music together.
