Hot Fuzz and Luxury Home Tours

Not exactly two topics that blend together, but they worked this weekend. Yesterday dh and I went on a luxury home tour after we picked up my vampire fangs for RT. The tour is happening all month here. The idea is that for three weeks you can tour some of the premier luxury homes in the area. We toured three magnificent condos and two houses. We liked all of the properties except one house. Retro seventies look anyone? I think not. Shudder. The tour definitely puts into perspective what you can get for $1 to 3 million.

Today we went to see Hot Fuzz. It’s by the creators of Shaun of the Dead. Basically in this flick, they did for cop movies what they’d done for zombie movies in Shaun of the Dead. If you liked the silliness of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Shaun of the Dead, then you’ll probably enjoy Hot Fuzz. It was good for a chuckle.

I’m down to editing the last scene in the urban fantasy. It should be finished by tomorrow unless I get a wild hair and tackle the whole thing tonight. After I type in the changes, I need to make a list of items that I intend to take to the Romantic Times Convention. Keep your fingers crossed that I can squeeze everything into one roller bag. I really don’t want to take the big suitcase.

  1. I so want to see Hot Fuzz. It looks fun!

Hurrah for your progress, and good luck shoving everything in. I’m sure you can make it with one roller bag. *g*

  2. I don’t know why, but I always get a warm feeling when anyone reaches the end of an edit. 🙂

  3. ONE roller bag???? I was totally pleased with myself for getting it down to my carryon case and my medium suitcase. I didn’t have to use the big ‘un! LOL. See you at RT!

  4. Charli, It’s definitely worth a rental, when it comes out. 🙂 I did manage to get everything shoved in. Not sure if it makes sense, but it’s in there. LOL! As for packing, I’m making the list now. *g*

  5. Bernard, Thank you. So do I. *ggg*

  6. Chey, I haven’t packed it yet. *ggg* I’ll see you there. 🙂

  7. I can’t wait to see Hot Fuzz, I totally loved Shaun of the Dead!

  8. Cathryn, Then you’ll enjoy Hot Fuzz. It’s the same silliness. 🙂

  9. I don’t know if you’re into Midsommer Murders: It’s a Brit police procedural set in the countryside. I adore the show. Hot Fuzz was like one of these on acid. In fact, they took a lot of cues from Midsommer and old Inspector Barnaby. Then again, perhaps it’s one long running joke. I agree, a great flick for a laugh. I really loved Timothy Dalton in it, what a total sleaze!

  10. Ursula, I watch a lot of the Midsommer Murder series. I’m also a big fan of Inspector Lynley, Wire in the Blood, and Waking the Dead.
