Pretty much any publisher who charges directly or indirectly for publishing is considered a vanity press. So yes, Whiskey Creek Press would be ineligible.

So, this would mean because a publisher like Whiskey Creek Press offers a paperback printing option for ninety bucks, they’re not considered eligible? Oh boy.

Raine, I think this came about because of Triskelion. So many authors called RWA when the sh*t started hitting the fan there. I think the Board decided the only way to avoid that sort of thing in the future is to tighten the regulations. On the flipside, it should be easier for any epub author to join PAN. I know that’s not much, but it’s better than a kick in the bullocks.

Patrice, Like I said to Charli, they may go by when it was contracted. Not sure. I think Red Sage will be the only one that remains recognized when the dust settles.
