Actually, the more I’m hearing about these PAN and Publisher changes, the more open I am to them. If they tweak the wording on what constitutes a vanity press/subsidy publisher to make it clearer, then I think it’ll really help authors in the end. Yeah, I know, Hell has frozen over. *ggg*

I’m with you, although the wording does need to be clarified so that royalty-paying publishers who sell through books their own website are not lumped with vanity publishers.
by Charli July 13th, 2007 at 11:06 amCharli, I agree. That’s all that really needs to be changed.
by Jordan July 13th, 2007 at 11:28 amAck. Dyslexia. That should say “sell books through” not “sell through books”.

by Jordan July 13th, 2007 at 1:28 pmi’m irritated by the latest development but I’m going to try witholding my final decision until the drama plays itself out.
by Shiloh July 14th, 2007 at 5:55 pmShiloh, Like I said, if they change the wording on vanity/subsidy publishing, I’ll be fine with it. I think it’ll open things up for a lot of authors and leave the publishers out of it. Which if you think about it, is as it should be. Of course, we have to wait and see if they do make those changes…
