If you signed up for my mailing list and part of your email had the word ‘jewel’ in it (or something like that), could you please enter your email again. I was attacked by the spam monster and accidentally deleted you. My bad? Blush. Sorry.
I will be sparse over the next few days. I’m in the middle of edits and want to get them finished by Thursday. While I’m gone you guys should check out this REALLY cool home show called Holmes on Homes. I heart Mike Holmes. The show is great, even though after watching him I doubt I’ll ever trust a contractor.
P.S. Julia Templeton’s new book RETURN TO ME has just been released. Go out and buy NOW! ![]()

We just got back from seeing The Bourne Ultimatum. It was definitely an enjoyable flick. Matt Damon does a really good (and convincing) job. It had the same gritty intensity as all the other Bourne movies, but ended with more of a resolution. (There were a few threads left dangling, but nothing major.)
Dh made an observation that unlike Bond movies, where you leave the film on an upbeat, the Bourne films give a satisfying ending, while not quite being happy. If you know what I mean. You don’t leave a Bourne film cheerful.
That said, it was still a great action-packed film filled with what you’ve come to expect from the Bourne movies. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good spy film. Two thumbs up. ![]()
This is an interesting link from Sabrina Jeffries, if not somewhat depressing. Ah well, I suppose you can’t be too upset with the truth. ![]()
Today is my dad’s birthday! I’ve already phoned and sang him Happy Birthday. He’ll get his gift from my siblings and I next week. (My sister is picking it up.;) Happy Birthday, Dad!!!
I found out today that I may be getting more writing work than I’d originally allotted time for. This is not new work, but it’s work that must be done before the end of this month. I will do my best to keep up with the blog, but as Marjorie Liu recently reminded me: The work comes first.
What are your priorities?
This link has me completely freaked out. Does anyone else think this is creepy?
I’m sitting here with edits in front of me. Once they’re done, I have to get started on the next Tor book. Am I thinking about charting the story? Am I thinking about deepening the suspense? NO! I’m thinking about what I’d like to write next.
Why does this always happen?
For the last few days my brain has been churning with ideas. Unfortunately, they are the wrong ideas since they have nothing to do with my current projects. (Have I mentioned that I have deadlines to meet?)
The one that has been screaming the loudest is a YA adult book. Yes, you read that right. I said Young Adult. Maybe it’s because of Harry Potter fever making the rounds. Maybe it’s because of all the kids’ movies I’ve been watching lately. I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to get this story idea out of my head. It’s so raw that it doesn’t even have a plot yet, only an opening scene. (I did write it down, for those of you wondering.) That said, it’s the LAST thing that I need to be thinking about right now.
So I forced myself to shove it aside and what did I do afterwards? I started tinkering with two Blaze story ideas that I have in my files. No, these stories didn’t start out as Blazes. I just thought that they might fit. Again, this is the last thing I need to be working on. Can we say avoidance? I think we can.
How do you handle monkey brain?
