I’d planned to blog about the things that I’ve learned and found helpful in my short career, but to be honest, I’m pooped. We signed the papers for the house today. It only took me ten minutes to get over the sticker shock. *ggg* It was a good thing that dh was there with me or I would have probably ran out screaming. :-O
I haven’t really started X-mas shopping yet. I can’t think about that until the movers come. I do however have lists of the items that I need to buy. That should speed up the process quite a bit. Thank goodness. Tomorrow I plan to pack up the kitchen. Tonight I’m going to pack the remaining items in my bathroom. I’ll leave out whatever I’ll need for the next few days. Luckily, it should only take me a few minutes.
Before anyone asks, no, I have not gotten any writing done…although I have had a few scenes come to me that I’ve jotted down. Two of them were even for the right manuscripts. Yay me! *g* The other one is something that is tugging at the back of my mind. It’s some kind of murder mystery. We’ll see what it eventually morphs into.
A friend sent me a gift certificate for Amazon. (I love those so.:) I would’ve been able to get more items, but now that they’ve taken away their discount it’s not going to be quite as much fun. I’m going to have to start shopping online somewhere else. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m all ears.

Congrats on getting the papers signed.
Sorry, I’ve only shopped on-line at Amazon. So I’m no help to you.
by Bailey Stewart December 3rd, 2007 at 6:54 pmThanks Bailey!
That’s the only place I shop regularly. I do like Powell’s Books a lot, but I’d rather shop there in person.
by Jordan December 3rd, 2007 at 7:07 pmHuge congrats on the signing–YAY!!!
by raine December 3rd, 2007 at 11:23 pmE-bay is the place I shop on-line, for just about everything. If you pay attention to the shipping fees, and the seller’s positive rating, you won’t go wrong. I’ve bought many books there, in addition to a multitude of other items.
by BernardL December 4th, 2007 at 7:38 amCongratulations on the new house!!! And hang in there. You’ll get through this hectic period and then you’ll be in this beautiful new place that’s all yours, and you can relax w/ dh and just enjoy it.
by Catherine Morris December 4th, 2007 at 8:42 amThanks Raine!
by Jordan December 4th, 2007 at 1:14 pmBernard, I’ve only shopped on eBay a couple of times. The whole auction thing freaks me out. *ggg*
by Jordan December 4th, 2007 at 1:15 pmThanks Catherine! Yes, I’m taking a deep breath. I know it’ll be fine. It’s just a pain in the rear. We’re looking forward to our first X-mas in the house.
by Jordan December 4th, 2007 at 1:16 pmYeah Jordan!! Congrats on the house!! I can’t help you with the online shopping…I have shopped at Amazon, ebay, B&N, and JC Penny for various things over the years. I have to say I do like shopping at ebay although sometimes its nerve wrecking and I have been screwed twice. but if I can pick up rare or different gifts for my daughter I do engage.
by Vivi Anna December 4th, 2007 at 2:21 pmVivi, Thank you! I understand why people enjoy shopping on eBay. I’m just not good at keeping track of it. *g*
by Jordan December 4th, 2007 at 3:52 pmCongrats on the new house! Yay! I have to admit I don’t do much online shopping, I’m more of an instant gratification person (Besides you can’t get a tall mocha and a cinnamon scone online *g*), but I do use B&N’s website to look things up. I’ve also looked at Overstock.com and they have books (I’m not sure about prices- but they say that they discount books). Good luck with the move.
by Ann December 4th, 2007 at 6:50 pmAnn, Thank you!
I’m all for instant gratification, but not for X-mas shopping. *ggg*
by Jordan December 4th, 2007 at 9:50 pmCongrats on the house!! Don’t worry about X-mas shopping until you’re done with the move (ugh, moving. Hate moving.)
by Jeaniene Frost December 5th, 2007 at 5:05 amJeaniene, Thank you!!! Yes, I’ve decided that moving is far from my favorite thing to do. I will be glad once everything is in and we’re settled.
