The door is currently being installed. Hopefully it’ll be done soon. Once that occurs, I’m going to work on fleshing out the Crimson outline I wrote up this past weekend. I need to get to writing the manuscript if I want to be finished with a rough draft by the end of June.
I’ve decided to put something else up on the Brenda Novak auction. So not only will I be donating a critique, but you can also bid on an Advanced Reader Copy of RED.

Doors are good!
I’m working on my synopsis. Sigh. It is not going well.
by Charli May 6th, 2008 at 2:31 pmYes, they are. It’ll be even better once it’s up. *g* Sorry to hear about your synopsis. Man, I hate writing those things.
by Jordan Summers May 6th, 2008 at 2:37 pmHow detailed an outline do you work from, Jordan?
by BernardL May 7th, 2008 at 8:26 amBernard, I start out VERY simple. I number down the page. In this case, I got to number 28. (A friend of mine, Julia Templeton gave me this technique.) I go back and write a sentence or three by each number so that I have some idea of what needs to happen in each chapter. Once I have that finished, I do what I’m about to do for the next couple of days, which is flesh out each chapter in more detail. I try to have at least a paragraph per chapter. If I can, I break those paragraphs down into three scenes per chapter.
That way when I go to write I know exactly what should be happening in each chapter. I do leave room for changes. And I allow there to be less fleshed out chapters, if I can’t come up with details. Most of the time these chapters either get merged with other chapters or unexpected events take place during the writing, which is fine with me. I love it when my subconscious takes the reins and writes.
Aren’t you sorry you asked? *g*
