I can’t tell you how bummed out I am. I just found out that Moonlight has been cancelled. I’m sure CBS is going to replace it with one of those reality shows or lame sitcom because there aren’t quite enough of those on TV. Soon I’m going to be down to watching nothing but DVD’s. Sigh. I’m going to REALLY miss this show.

I know…tis sad, but Joss Whedon has a new series in the works. No vamps but it sounds fab! And it does sound like some good stuff is in the works (and of course Heroes, Terminator and Prison Break are all coming back)
Funny enough I noticed a similar trend on ABC–the only thing I want to watch is Lost (and Eli Stone) but Pushing Daisies is coming back.
by Amie Stuart May 14th, 2008 at 11:53 amUnfortunately Amie, I don’t watch the shows you mentioned. I started watching Terminator, but got bored. I watched Heroes in the beginning, but quickly tired of it, too. And I’m not interested in Prison Break.
I know Joss is coming out with a new show. Hopefully it’ll be good, but to be honest I’m just about done with the regular TV channels. I’m obviously not their target demographic.
At least I have BBC America and the Sci-fi channel left. With the cancellation of Moonlight, I’m down to watching very few shows on the regular channels. My mom and I were counting them up and it’s looking pretty sad.
Unless a new show seems amazing, I think I’m done investing my time particularly with CBS, which appears to make decisions in a slap-dash manner. I’m confused about how a show can win its timeslot consistently and still get cancelled. Doesn’t make much sense to me. There hasn’t been much interesting on offer at the other networks either. I’ll stick it out with Supernatural and Bones. It wouldn’t hurt me to read more and watch less TV.
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 12:03 pmHeroes lost me in Season Two, when as far as I can tell they went on to invalidate all of Season One. I’m pretending it doesn’t exist and it ended in Season One.
Moonlight may get moved to CW.
I’m looking forward to Doll House, it sounds cool. Go Whedon!
by Charli May 14th, 2008 at 12:37 pmCharli, I feel the same about Heroes. It started out very interesting and kind of got lost. Where did you hear that about Moonlight?
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 1:17 pmOnline gossip. Apparently CW is taking two hours and Moonlight could be one. Moonlight fans are lobbying madly.
by Charli May 14th, 2008 at 1:36 pmOkay, I’m sure it’s a slim chance, but it would be nice. Moonlight would fit well at the CW, considering they have Reaper, Smallville and Supernatural. Fingers crossed.
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 1:48 pmThere’s a petition up, 1600 sigs so far, for Moonlight.

by Shiloh Walker May 14th, 2008 at 2:04 pmShiloh,
Amie just sent me an email basically shooting down the idea of the CW picking the show up. SUCKS!!! I think what pisses me off the most is that fans don’t even get a conclusion to the show. I wouldn’t be so upset if we got like a two hour wrap up. But it’s going to just be left hanging. It BLOWS!
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 2:38 pmOH NO!!!!!!!!!! I really really really liked that show!
Lately, I try not to get too attached to shows because it’s a 50 50 shot what I like will get the axe.
by Ursula May 14th, 2008 at 4:07 pmUrsula….a lot of my fave shows get cancelled
that’s okay. I watch way too much tv anyway
by Amie Stuart May 14th, 2008 at 4:46 pmUrsula, I know how you feel. I’m really, REALLY bummed out about Moonlight’s cancellation. I hate it when a good show gets canned, especially when you know a steaming pile of shit will be put in its place. No, I’m not bitter. Much.
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 5:06 pmAmie, I’m thinking the same thing. It’s time for less TV. Not much left that’s any good anyway. And since the networks don’t really give a show a chance unless of course it’s vacuous like Gossip Girls, there’s really no sense investing more of my time.
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 5:08 pmI take it you liked “Moonlight”, huh?
Sorry, Jordan! That does suck. I only got to see a coupla episodes, but it really did look interesting.
by raine May 14th, 2008 at 10:50 pmDunno what you have to do to be considered successful on TV these days. That’s sad.
Raine, Just a little. *g*
As for success on TV, honestly I don’t know. The show won its time slot repeatedly in three different age group demographics. It is sad.
by Jordan Summers May 14th, 2008 at 11:12 pmI hope CW picks it up. Moonlight is one of my favorites. Just what we need is another reality TV show… barf…
by BernardL May 15th, 2008 at 7:45 amBernard, I hope so, too, but it’s not looking good.
I hate reality TV shows. There is no ‘reality’ in them. That was driven home clearly when I received an email from a friend. Apparently, they’re shooting the latest ’seeking a wife’ sort of show where I grew up. My friend said they were basically calling for extras in the area to hold a square dance because they want the local people to look like ‘real’ hicks. Keep in mind this town hasn’t held a square dance since around the late 70’s. *g* The male ‘catch’ is supposed to be a farmer. My friend said he and his family hasn’t farmed in years. *ggg* And they’ve made it out to look like there’s only small towns and farms around, when there’s a town fifteen minutes away with hundred thousand people in it. LOL! Yeah, reality at its finest. (Shakes head)
That’s so much better than a well put together drama. NOT!
by Jordan Summers May 15th, 2008 at 10:33 am*glances around* Gossip Girl is my guilt pleasure
I know…you have no clue the depths of my shame but there it is. I heart me some catty, bitchy, snotty, spoiled-ass rich kids *sigh*
*slinks off*
by Amie Stuart May 15th, 2008 at 1:43 pmAmie, You can like those types of shows. It’s fine…as long as you don’t ask me to.
by Jordan Summers May 15th, 2008 at 2:04 pmI feel so dirty
by Amie Stuart May 15th, 2008 at 2:47 pmAmie, LOL, you should.
