Moved Rooms and Watched Hellboy 2

Dh and I decided we’d change out rooms. We moved our office from the bottom floor to the top. Fun times were had by all moving two big desks up three flights of stairs. We’ll be ‘feeling’ the fun for days. *ggg* We still haven’t finished moving the bed down into the ground floor room. It’s currently sitting in the living room. We’ll get to it. For now, we’re setting up the new office. Trying to be very Zen about it. Clean desks. 😯 Yes, that’s hard for me, but I’m trying. I do think it’ll help with the work.

We spoke to family and found out a few are moving to Munich, Germany. Can’t wait to visit them. Can you say Alps? Yeah, baby. 😀

Today we snuck out to see Hellboy 2. Beautiful worlds. Fun story. A few very funny parts. Good way to spend a few hours. If you liked the first Hellboy, then you’ll enjoy this one.

I won’t be around much this week either. Down to the last few chapters of the book…that won’t die. Going to have SO MUCH to fill in once I finish the first draft. Wish me luck, I’m going in. 😥 😈

Taking Off

I hadn’t planned to take a blog break, but I’m going to have to in order to get this book finished before RWA Nationals. It’s having ‘issues’. Hate it when that happens. *ggg* I hope you all understand. I know my blogging as of late has been spotty to say the least. Frankly, I’ve been distracted by this story and others. Hopefully I’ll manage to get this done in time to blog before I leave for the conference.

On a separate note, I caught Wall:E yesterday. It was a very cute robot romance story. I can see why kids love it so much. Hoping to catch Hellboy 2 and Journey to the Center of the Earth this weekend. As the Terminator says, “I’ll be back.”

Plans–Things I Rarely Stick To

I’ve received a few emails recently asking me about my writing plans. Most are specifically asking about series that I started at Ellora’s Cave. (ie Atlantean’s Quest and Phantom Warriors) As it stands right now, I feel like I’m done with the Atlantean’s Quest series. I have started a third Phantom Warrior novella/category book, but haven’t had a chance to finish it. I’ve also written a follow up novella to Gothic Passions called Rose’s Rapture, but it needs to be edited. At present, I don’t have time to delve into these stories. If there comes a day when I can address them again, I’ll complete the works and put them up on my site as free reads.

I appreciate everything Ellora’s Cave did for me, but for now, my intention is not to return to writing erotic romances. That may change in the future, but it’s doubtful.

I’m Not Here Today

You can find me at Romancing the Blog.

Also for your viewing pleasure, Tor has put up the original artwork to RED by Christian McGrath. I saw this when I was in New York in March. It looks even better in person. He’s incredibly talented. I’m praying that he gets to do the rest of the covers in the series. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed. What do you guys think?

Hope everyone has a safe Fourth of July (if you’re in the states). If you’re outside of the states, then have a great weekend.

Big Weekend-No Big Plans

Tomorrow is the fourth of July. I have a post coming out at Romancing the Blog. In my younger days, I made sure to attend some kind of fireworks display. Not so much over the last ten years or so. Being married to a Scot probably plays a part in it, but it’s also because I really don’t like large crowds. There was a time when they didn’t bother me, but that ended when I was nearly crushed at a rock concert. That has a way of changing ones perspective rather quickly.

On Saturday we have a couple of friends, Jason and Michelle coming over for pizza. Should be fun, since we haven’t seen them since their wedding.

I wrote on Tuesday, but didn’t manage any words yesterday. (Something is wrong with the book and I’m trying to pinpoint the problem. I think it’s in the last two chapters I wrote, since I didn’t think there was a problem until then.) Instead, I spent the day stuffing envelopes with bookmarks and RED arcs. I ran out of envelopes. 🙁 I have about 18 more to go. It’ll have to wait a few weeks. I’m dreading the cost of postage since several of the packages are headed overseas. 😯 (Mental note to self: Won’t be doing this again unless I’m being paid the big bucks.)

Other than that, I haven’t been up to much. I’m currently reading Marjorie Liu’s new book, The Iron Hunt. Very poetic writing. I’m also reading, The Last Vampire by Patricia Rosemoor and Marc Paoletti. The latter is a fun read, but reminds me a lot of the Mummy movie with Brendan Fraser. Still haven’t managed to see Wall: E or Get Smart. Hopefully we’ll remedy that soon.
