I’m still editing. It’s getting closer. Going to work through the weekend, then hopefully send the book to my mom for a read through. Yes, my mom reads my books and gives me VERY honest feedback about them. No sugar coating from my mom. *g* One of the many reasons I love her.
In the meantime, I thought about the MeMe I did yesterday and came up with one for myself and anyone else who wants to participate. Below list your top ten favorite romance books and top ten movies. Here are mine in no particular order:
1. Rose in Winter by Kathleen Woodiwiss
2. Mine to Take by Dara Joy
3. Devil’s Bride by Stephanie Laurens
4. Captain Jack by Stephanie Laurens
5. Desired by Virginia Henley
6. Dark Prince by Christine Feehan
7. Beast Within by Lora Leigh
8. Blood and Kisses by Angela Knight
9. Love’s Prisoner by MaryJanice Davidson
10. Fur for All by Christine Warren
And yes, I know I’m forgetting a LOT of books on this list, but those are the ones that popped in my head. Now onto movies. This one is TOUGHER, if that’s even possible.
1. Singing in the Rain (what can I say, I LOVE Gene Kelly)
2. Matrix
3. Lord of the Rings (all of them)
4. Pirates of the Caribbean (first one)
5. Stardust
6. Alien
7. Close Encounters
8. It’s a Wonderful Life
9. Gigi
10. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
I like musicals. Got a problem with that?
Yeah, I know I mentioned I wasn’t going to tag anyone, but I LIED. Sasha, Vivi, Amie, Raine, Charli, Bernard, Frances, and Lynn consider yourselves tagged. Lynn is excused if she’s floating away.

I just read the Florida reports and Lynn is probably up to her ass in alligators literally. The flooding is driving ‘em out of the swamps. Yikes!
Okay, I am memed. I shall go forth and write my list.
by Charli August 22nd, 2008 at 9:43 amCharli, Yikes! Hopefully she got to higher ground. My brother isn’t fairing very well down there either.
by Jordan Summers August 22nd, 2008 at 11:33 amOkay, this one might not be That hard.. I’ll give i a try.
by Sasha August 22nd, 2008 at 1:47 pmSasha, You can do it. I have faith.
by Jordan Summers August 22nd, 2008 at 1:52 pmBTW, I love all those movies. Especially Stardust. Oh, Stardust. I want to be Neil Gaiman when I grow up.
by Charli August 22nd, 2008 at 2:11 pmCharli, I thought about doing a monster movie list, but I knew it would identify as a super geek. I hear you on Stardust. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that movie. Yes, Neil Gaiman is a wonderful bar to shoot for.
by Jordan Summers August 22nd, 2008 at 3:26 pmCool lists. I love Singing in the Rain and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (and Stardust).
by Ann August 22nd, 2008 at 10:38 pmAnn, Yes, they are two of my all time favorite movies.
by Jordan Summers August 23rd, 2008 at 11:47 amI can’t believe you have Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on that list!! I adore that movie!! There’s never been a funnier scene than him singing “Bless Her Beautiful Hide.” I’ts the moment the audience realized exactly what the conflicts are going to be between the two of them!
by Delilah Devlin August 23rd, 2008 at 12:53 pmI’ve been AWOL for a while but have now caught up with all your posts. I presume that was me who was tagged below but I haven’t read any of those books that were made into movies so it would have been rather pointless. But thanks for the honor. LOL.
by Suzanne Perazzini August 23rd, 2008 at 3:50 pmDelilah, I LOVE that movie. Howard Keel. Yum. Yes, that was quite funny.
by Jordan Summers August 24th, 2008 at 12:08 amSuzanne, Yes, I did.
*ggg*
by Jordan Summers August 24th, 2008 at 12:08 am‘Sweet Home Alabama’ is my favorite romantic comedy, and the original ‘Romeo and Juliet’ from 1968 bests any other straight romance I ever saw. Another touching yet hilarious movie was ‘Secondhand Lions’. An adventure movie with a very well done developing love story is ‘The Last of the Mohicans’, which combined great acting, an incredible soundtrack, and exceptional visual effects. I’ve keep meaning to see ‘Stardust’.
by BernardL August 24th, 2008 at 9:21 amBernard, I love Sweet Home Alabama. It was a great romantic comedy. I wanted to see Secondhand Lions and never got around to it. My mom said it was great. I tend to avoid ‘tragic’ love stories. I’ve seen that version of Romeo and Juliet. We had field trip to the theater to see it in high school. Nudity+mixed company+freshman year of high school=Major embarrassment. *g* Plus, I never forgave the author (wg) for killing them off in the end.
by Jordan Summers August 24th, 2008 at 11:30 amYou reminded me of another very well done romance using Shakespearean script to great effect: ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in happier times. At least it had a HEA ending, and all of Shakespeare’s superlative lines recited as he wrote them.
The love scene between Daniel Day Lewis and Madeleine Stowe on the ramparts of a fort under siege in ‘The Last of the Mohicans’ was most memorable. Your Mom’s right, ‘Secondhand Lions’ is one of the funniest and yet touching movies around.
by BernardL August 24th, 2008 at 1:50 pmBernard, I’ve loved all the versions of The Taming of the Shrew. Howard Keel was in one called, ‘Kiss Me Kate’. Such a terrific movie. The gangsters are hilarious in that film. Shoot, I also forgot to add White Christmas to my list above. It’s one of my all time favorite films. Knew I’d forget one.
Yes, The Last of the Mohicans was a terrific flick. Everyone fell for Daniel Day Lewis after that one. *g*
by Jordan Summers August 24th, 2008 at 2:00 pmYou obviously don’t remember the hex Lynn put on you and me the last time we tagged her.
by Shiloh Walker August 24th, 2008 at 9:58 pmOh, I absolutely adore IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. I cry every dang time.
I also see you have a thing for men named “Captain Jack”!
by Heather August 24th, 2008 at 10:12 pmEveryone fell for Daniel Day Lewis after that one.
Gawd, he was just to DIE for in that film…
by raine August 24th, 2008 at 10:29 pmShiloh, LOL, yes, I do. I just like playing with fire.
by Jordan Summers August 24th, 2008 at 10:50 pmHeather, I cry too. It’s a fabulous movie.
Well, perhaps it’s more accurate to say that I have a thing for pirates, since the ‘other’ Captain Jack played a pirate, too. *ggg*
by Jordan Summers August 24th, 2008 at 10:51 pmRaine, Smokin’. Absolutely smokin.
