Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone who celebrates the holiday has a wonderful time with friends and family. Right now I’m sitting in Munich, drinking mulled wine and watching my niece and nephew run from present to present. It’s cold outside, but it’s warm in here.

Seasons Greetings!

Scotland the Brave

I’m sitting here at the folks’ house, staring out the window at the loch. Their home is at the foothills of the Highlands, so it’s windswept and very green. May go out for a fish and chipper later. Sigh, that’s the sound of contentment. 🙂

Red will be playing with Jezebel today at Cat and Muse. Stop by and see what kind of trouble the two of them get in.

I’ve also put an excerpt up for SCARLET.

Red will be playing with Jezebel later today at Cat and Muse. Stop by later and see what kind of trouble the two of them get in. Sorry, found out it won’t be today. It’ll be up on Thursday.

CRIMSON is winding its way toward New York as we speak. Hopefully my editor will be happy with it. She sent me the coolest link today. She saw a shirt and thought it was perfect for RED. After getting a look at it, I’d have to agree. Check it out. I think I’m going to have to get me one of those. 😎

Today is a busy one. I’m packed for the trip, but I have to run to the post office (Need to mail a copy of RED to the UK. It’ll be easier than trying to find a post office while I’m there.), do more laundry (it never ends), paint my nails, and workout (Ugh! But I need to before the long plane ride.). Dh has already threatened words if I’m not relaxing by the time he gets home. 🙄 That means I need to bust butt now to get the last of the things on my list finished.

Hope everyone has a nice week. Mine will be spent in cold, wet Scotland, trying to get over jetlag. And I wouldn’t want it any other way. 😉 Ciao!

That Thunk Was My Head

It’s 11:20pm here and I just finished the CRIMSON edits a few minutes ago. I have no idea if I caught everything. Fortunately, my editor, the copyeditor, and I will be going through the manuscript one more time, but that won’t happen until next year. I can now leave for Scotland and Germany with NOTHING on my slate. Can I get an oh yeah? OH YEAH!!!

It’s weird not having a project due. I must admit. But it’s also nice. Once again I’m free to write whatever pops into my little head. Lately, the YA UF has been calling me. I guess I’m feeling like an angry 15 year old boy as of late. *g* I guess we’ll have to see where it leads. My intention is not to write at all while I’m gone. I’m not even sure I am going to blog, except for maybe a few pre-dated posts. VERY FEW. I just need a break. I’m tired and I am really looking forward to playing video games and reading.

Tomorrow Today, I’m hoping we can catch the Day the Earth Stood Still. It should be ‘actiony’ enough to keep my attention. My mom went to see it and said she enjoyed the movie, so I think we’re going to give it a shot. Have a nice Sunday.

Still Have To Poke At A Few Things

I’ve finished an extensive round of edits. I have cut chapters. Rearranged chapters. Added an extra POV that wasn’t there in the first three rounds of edits. Now I have to figure out if all my evil scientist tampering has made the book better or worse. I took my editor’s editorial letter and ran with it.

Tomorrow, I’ll spend the day typing in the changes and printing the book out. Hopefully I’ll finish so I can start reading. We have friends coming over on Thursday, so I’ll have to clean the house. It’s looking really scary right now. I haven’t touched it since edits…on Scarlet began and I’m just now finishing up Crimson edits. You do the math. 😳

I’ve decided to call it a night. I still have to workout and I’d like to have dinner sometime before midnight.

Saw Shiloh’s wonderful sale news. Way to go!!! You and Bernard are on a roll. Big congrats!!! 😀

Fifty Pages Away From Finishing

In case you’re wondering where I’ve been, it’s editing D-day at my house. I have fifty pages to go. I plan to finish by pain of death by tomorrow. It’ll still be rough. I have a few more items to add and tweak once I’m done, but the overall story will be complete. I’ve hit the editing stage where I have NO IDEA how this book reads. I don’t think it sucks, but I really couldn’t tell you if it was any good. It’s a stage that every writer goes through. I always laugh, when I hear other writers saying that their books rock. I honestly want what they’re smoking. It’s not that I don’t think their books are good, but how in the hell would they know? When you’re this close to a project, there is no sense of perspective. Believe me. 😯 Bangs head on desk.

What Are You Reading?

I was going to do a whole blog about the people trying to claim Obama isn’t a citizen, so therefore he can’t be president of the United States. But I decided against it because I knew it would only piss me off. *g*

Today is my aunt’s 82nd birthday. Happy Birthday, L. May you celebrate eighty more. 🙂

Now, I’d like to know what everyone is reading with special emphasis on recommendations. I just finished Dark Challenge and Dark Fire by Christine Feehan. I’m almost done reading Dark Magic. I enjoyed Dark Fire so much that I may go back and read it again. So spill. Give me the names of those books you think would knock my socks off and tell me why you liked them so much. 😆
