Work, Work, and More Work

Sorry I’ve been MIA. I just finished typing in the edits for my vampire novella. I need to read through it one more time to make sure I haven’t missed anything. I plan to send it off tomorrow, then jump right into more edits on another project. I wish it was more exciting around here, but LIFE is currently taking precedence over blogging. I’m sure you all understand.

I’m reading the last of the RITA’s since that deadline is coming up FAST. Yikes! 😯 I am also reading the new Stephanie Laurens’ book, ‘Where The Heart Leads’. What a delightful, delightful book. It reminds me of her early work with the original Cynsters. I’m really enjoying reading this book. It puts me in a happy place. 😀

Anyone going to see Watchmen next week? I’ll be there with bells on. (Midwest saying, I don’t mean it literally.) 😉

  1. I cannot wait to see Watchmen! I am full of squee and giddiness. And if Stephanie Laurens’ newest is like the early Cynster books I gotta have it.

  2. You’ll have to let us know how Watchmen is. It’s a chore to get to a movie theater from where I live so it has to be amazing to get me motivated! Be glad you’re busy with work. I’m between contracts, a couple of proposals floating at the moment. Hate the uncertainty and I can’t make myself work without a deadline!

  3. Charli, Me, too. I am so psyched about that movie. Should be terrific. 🙂

The book really is that good so far. I’m LOVING it. They h/h don’t even kiss until like 150 pages into the book and when they do, look out! *wg*

  4. Delilah, I’ll definitely let you know what I think of Watchmen.

As for work, I have several proposals sitting and more stuff getting ready to go out. The work I’m doing now is just to finish up contracts. When I turn this novella in, I’m free to write whatever I want. I must admit it was a lot of fun to write it. It’s been a long time since I’ve written a novella.

Fortunately, I can make myself adhere to my own deadlines. It’s tougher than having a ‘real’ one. But I suppose that’s the key– you have to believe the deadline is real. I wouldn’t get anything done otherwise. I have no doubt you’ll have another contract very soon. 🙂 In the meantime, embrace your angry bunny and get crackin’. 😉

  5. The ‘Watchmen’ movie sure looks a lot better than the original comic series I read.

  6. Why bells, is what I want to know.

    (Good luck with the work)

  7. I’ll be there with bells on as well. We say that up here in Canada as well.

Can’t WAIT to see Watchmen. Jeffrey Dean Morgan…mmmm, yummy!

  8. Bernard, I’ve actually really liked what I’ve read of the graphic novel. It’s very different and is considered one of the best ever written. The author certainly broke out of the comic box.

  9. Azteclady, LOL! I’m not sure, but I think it has something to do with heralding your arrival and the state of your excitement. *g*

    Thanks!

  10. Vivi, Oh good. I’m glad it’s not just the midwest. *g* I think Watchmen is going to rock.

  11. Congratulations on getting the novella done and sent off! Good luck with the other edits you’re working on.

  12. Karin, Thank you! 🙂
