Holy Moly, Batman

I just got done watching the season finale of Criminal Minds. WOW! Just WOW! I did NOT see that ending coming. (And I’m not talking about the pigs or what happened on the farm.) I wonder if that means he’s not coming back. This is one of those shows that continually surprises me. Every time I think I have them figured out, they throw a curve ball. Hats off to the writers.

Speaking of writers, I know I’m WAY late to the game, but I finally picked up Karen Marie Moning’s FEVER series. It’s an urban fantasy set in Ireland. I tried reading the first book when it came out a few years ago, but couldn’t get into it. Something told me to hang onto it. I’m so glad that I did because this time around it sucked me in. I’ve devoured the first two books and need to get my hands on the third (which releases in paperback at the end of July). The fourth book comes out in August. I can tell already I’ll be counting down the minutes until the fifth and final book releases NEXT YEAR. Gulp. Do not want to wait. Sigh. 😥 I’m actually surprised by how much I’m enjoying this series. I mean I’ve always loved Ms. Moning’s historicals. She writes seriously hot Highlanders,(And yes, I’m biased. *g*) but I didn’t immediately take to this series. It wasn’t the writing or the fact she’d switched to a new genre. (I don’t really mind those things if the author has finished writing whatever else they were working on.) Don’t like dangling series. (I’m fully aware a lot of times that is completely out of the author’s hands.) Anyway, depending on how this series ends next year, I may have to go back and collect all the books to put them on my keeper shelf. I can definitely see re-reading these at some point in the future.

On a personal note, I am SO sore. My Wii Active is kicking my arse. I’m hoping I can walk by the time I get to New York. Ouch!

  1. Oh good for you working out!! I’m so proud of you. 🙂 I am training for my next half marathon already and I love it! Thanks for the book recommendation too!

  2. Shannon, Thank you! 🙂 Good luck with the half marathon. I have a dear friend that runs those. She ran the Boston this year. Very proud of her. Hope you like the books. 🙂

  3. I have got to pick up that series. And yay for working out.

  4. Charli, You really do need to pick it up. It’s good. Really good. I can’t wait to see how she wraps everything up. Wish I knew when next year the final book is coming out.

Thanks! Today I’m supposed to rest with the workouts. They suggest every two to three days taking a break. I probably should’ve done it yesterday, but I didn’t. Today is cleaning the final level of my house day. I’m looking forward to having a clean house. 🙂

  5. It’s funny about working out. The only time you know it’s effective is when you’re in pain. 🙂

  6. Bernard, I think that’s rather sad. *g*

  7. I’m totally mad for Criminal Minds. Love it to pieces, and I’ve found a very intelligent group of people who like to discuss the shows, which is marvelous.

Also, I’m working out, too. Swim aerobics, walking. It feels good to move.

  8. Jo, Yep, I didn’t see that one coming at all. I’m trying to decide if it was a psych out or a for real moment. Still shocked either way.

Good for you! It does feel good to get moving. I’m going to miss my Wii Active while I’m out of town.

  9. Yay…another Fever convert, LOL. So are you a Barrons or V’Lane gal?

Been larking the last few months…working my way through all the books I picked up on vacation on top of the box you sent me. Loved Red, BTW, and have been recommending it wherever I can.

Can’t wait to get my hands on Scarlet…actually advertising on my blog along with Dreamfever by Moning and An Echo in the Bone by Galbaldon (which is saying something at least to those who know me, LOL).

  10. Sherri, Yes, I am. It snuck up on me. I really didn’t see it coming. Sigh. *ggg*

Glad to hear you enjoyed RED. Thank you. 🙂

LOL! It says something to me to be in that company and I don’t even know you. Snort. 😉
