Tammy, I’ve read a few reviews that mentioned the X-Files. It should be interesting.

Yeah, that’s the problem with Beta readers. You have to be able to articulate.

I caught Warehouse 13 as well – it put me in mind of X-files to certain extent, only with a LOT more comedy. I’m curious to see how things progress not only with the two main characters, but also with the lady that owns the B&B and …. I forget his name, the guy they report to at the warehouse.

As for Beta readers – good luck! I love to read, but while i can tell if something works for me I can’t always tell why, same with if it doesnt work for me.

I liked the pilot very much. I hope the writers can accent the two agents’ relationship because the chemistry is there. Best of all… there are no moronic siblings so far.

Charli, That’s smart. I didn’t bother once the book had been submitted. I figured I might have to change the things that the reader discussed. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Singing the same song about not enough time to get reading and feedback on books, although I have sent books to a CP/reader at same time as editor, and incorporated feedback into revisions.

Would really like to have more time on future projects, which means building in more time from sale to release. There are so many things you just can’t see until the book’s had time to sit.

Haven’t seen Warehouse 13. Might have to check that one out.

Vivi, It’s definitely tricky finding someone. I need another critique partner (multipublished) AND a reader with no ambitions to write. Like you, I’ve written too close to deadline on the last few books to even get feedback. I hope that changes with ALL future projects.

Hmm, checked out Devon’s lj. I know I’m in need of someone, just not sure who exactly. I’d love a bunch of beta readers but because I usual am just on deadline with my books there isn’t any time to have readers read and give me their thoughts.

I think when I sell my YA I’m going to find a bunch of teen beta readers, get a street team going.

It’s hard to be a good Beta Reader, but if you are you’ll be worth your weight in gold.

Actually, I didn’t come up with the names. I came up with RED. Claire Delacroix (sp) suggested making them all different colors. My editor at Tor came up with the variations of red.

I did see Warehouse 13. I liked it in comparison to some of the other SyFy originals I have seen. It had elements of Steampunk in it. I will definitely add to my DVR.

As for a Japanese creatures — how about an ONI – they are suppose to be able to fly and change shape. It might work for you.

Beta reader – I always thought that this would be a fun but never knew how to do this. I am not a writer but I do love to read and I do speak my mind – might have to look into that.

Can’t wait until Crimson comes out (what motivated you to call them shades of red – just curious)
