Ever Have…

I woke up this morning and had to wash away the past. It was clinging to my face like last night’s sleep. It’s always a bittersweet moment when you realize your dreams of people who’ve passed on are just that–dreams. It makes the pain fresh again.

Have you ever had one of those nights?

  1. For almost a full year after my grandmother’s death I would dream every night that we were talking. Every morning I’d wake up thinking she was still alive. When I realized she wasn’t, the pain was almost unbearable.

  2. Yes, I had that last night too. But my lose was of a cat, Casper. Not as bad as losing a human loved one but a lose none the less.

    It does hurt. Bad.

  3. Many times.

  4. Yes I have. It makes you take a step back. Also sometimes I wish I could just go back to sleep and finish my dream. Other times I have dreams of reading books only I am living it out. So kind of like reading over the loud speaker and living it.

  5. Dawn, I had a similar situation when my grandma passed away. (((Hugs)))

  6. Jessica, The Queen had that right.

  7. Bernard, I’m sure.

  8. Laura, I’ve managed to go back to sleep once or twice, but not the other night.

  9. Hugs J.

I wish I could give you a real one.

  10. Thanks V! I hope you have a very Happy Birthday on Friday. 🙂

  11. Not so much a night as a day; I’ve actually forgotten somebody was gone, and then remembered and felt the loss again. You start to think of certain people as fixtures in your life and it’s very hard to stop thinking of them as present. (Maybe it helps to think of them as angel presences?)

  12. Charli, I guess it’s always good to be remembered fondly no matter what form they take.

  13. A big thank you for the birthday wishes!!! I’m going to go get my hair done and am getting a facial.

  14. Vivi, That sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day.
