SUPERNATURAL ♦ URBAN FANTASY ♦ CONTEMPORARY/SUSPENSE ♦ EROTIC ROMANCE

Kate Duffy…

I just got home and found out that Kensington Brave Editor Kate Duffy had passed away. I have mixed feelings about the news. Kate was the first New York editor to purchase my work. The first New York editor to take a chance on this newbie writer. She loved romance and believed in the books that she bought. No one could ever doubt her passion for the genre. We had our differences over the years, but I always respected her work ethic. The publishing world, and romance especially, has lost one of its greatest champions. It feels like the end of an era. May she rest in peace.

  1. I was telling my husband it’s the romance equivalent of when Jim Baen of Baen books died to the SF/F community. Huge impact on the genre.

  2. Charli, I agree. She was definitely an icon in the industry. No one could ever fault her for her love of the romance genre. She built a lot of authors.

  3. I heard about it on twitter yesterday. I never worked with her but quite a few of my friends had at some point. She definitely had a huge impact on romance. God rest her soul. 🙁

  4. Shiloh, She really did have a big impact on the romance industry. I hope she’s at peace.
