I’ve turned in my edits for the Mammoth Book of Special Ops Romances. It’s good to have them done. My story is called Heat of the Night. It’s a priest meets girl, girl likes priest story…sort of.
My urban fantasy has been reworked and sent off to my agent. That will make number two in the adult urban fantasy category. I’m now officially back to work on my YA urban fantasy. (Yes, there is a theme.) Once I get the YA done, I’ll take another look at my story ideas folder to see what I’d like to do next. I’m not sure, but I do enjoy writing the books the way I want to write them without the pressure of a deadline. I’m sure that will change. *g*
I’ve decided to rework Gothic Passions, my vampire Regency historical romance and put it up on Kindle. I’m doing it as a kind of experiment much like other authors have done. Not sure how it’ll turn out, but it should be interesting.
Tomorrow I have to take my care in for repair. Apparently it needs a new alternator. *%$& I plan to take my YA to finish reading the chapters I’ve written and my Nintendo DS. I may even take a book along. Yes, I’m camping at the dealership until the work is finished. Should be fun—NOT!!!
Tis the season and all that jazz.

Good for you all around! Nice way to make use of your waiting time. And I’m itching to do a Kindle experiment, too, but have other things to take care of first.

by Jordan Summers November 4th, 2009 at 8:56 amI hope your journey into the auto repair realm was relatively painless.
by BernardL November 9th, 2009 at 11:20 amActually, Bernard, it was extremely expensive and I’m still smarting over a garage usage fee.

by Roxanne November 16th, 2009 at 4:46 pmI wanted to drop a quick line to say I read Crimson and it was really enjoyable! I have to admit the sub-plot involving Demery I did not see coming (and I am with Red, if he had talked about his personal issues another solution might have been found but c’est la vie), but glad Chaos was not the one who followed through with order from the first chapter. Also glad the tech guys were able to repair Rita (She’s a cutie!). I also wanted to ask: are you thinking about writing a fourth Dead World novel or moving on to other projects?
Thanks in advance.
R.
Roxanne, Thank you! I’m glad you liked the book. I debated about changing the story points you mention above, but I decided in the end to take them the direction they went in the book.
At present, I have no plans to write another Dead World novel. There may be the occasional novella, but again, I have no plans.
Unfortunately, due to my writing ‘quirks’, the series fell between cracks. It was too romance driven for urban fantasy readers and too urban fantasy for a lot of romance readers. I made it hard on myself all the way around. I’m glad that I wrote the books that I wrote, but my future work needs to be a bit more straight genre…at least until I find my audience.
