Sasha, Yeah, Robert was in really great shape. The chemistry with Jude was fabulous. Here’s hoping the script of the next one is a lot better.

I enjoyed it. Loved the newly ripped RDJ, and the chemistry between him and Jude law was great. I think the visual aspects definitely outdid the script, and hopefully if/when they do a sequel, the story will be a bit stronger.

Delilah, It was fun enough. And Downey is Downey. He has a lot of witty dialogue or ad libs depending on what they went with. *g*

Bernard, I went in not expecting it to be like the books. I figured it was a sort of ‘reinventing’ of Sherlock Holmes. It’s definitely that. I was just hoping for a sharper story and better pacing. I thought the characters were interesting and fun. It’s entertaining enough, but it could’ve been much better.

Toni, The script was definitely a little all over the place. I agree that it didn’t live up to the previews.

From the trailers, I knew the movie wouldn’t be a traditional Holmes film. Still, it looks like fun. Anytime there are bombs exploding, I’m there. And I’ll watch anything starring Robert Downey, Jr.

Thanks for the review. I’ve read some very differing reviews which seem to fall in line with your take about not expecting a fundamentalist approach to Holmes.

I love the look of the Holmes movie, and I hope they do more! That’s the one I’m really looking forward to.

I liked the interaction between Holmes and Watson (definite bromance chemistry there) and the visual (steampunky) quality of the film. Still, I think the movie was a failure (too bad because I was really looking forward to it). I didn’t particularly care for the script.
