Whirlwind Trip–Exhausted, But Happy

Dh and I made a whirlwind trip out to California this weekend to attend a Christmas Party. It was a very long eight hour drive each way, but it was worth it because we arrived at the Bacara Resort. It sits on seventy something acres of ocean front property. Understated luxury coupled with fabulous amenities makes this resort an ideal place to relax. We want to go back when we can stay a little longer because one night wasn’t nearly enough. We had a fabulous time at the party. It was fun to dress up and meet some of the people dh will be working with at his new job. All and all, the trip was a success. Now I think I’m going to go collapse.

Tomorrow I think we’re going to go see Avatar or as a few people have called it, “Dances with Wolves in Space”. We’ll see if it lives up to that name. Have any of you caught the film? If so, what did you think?

  1. My dh called it Alien Braveheart. Same difference, I think! Resort sounds fabulous.

  2. Charli, The resort was WONDERFUL. Really would’ve loved to spend a few more days there. Even one more would’ve been terrific.

Sounds like the movie descriptions are consistent. *ggg*

  3. I saw it today, J, it was breathtaking, spellbinding and mind blowing. It is a cinema masterpiece.

  4. V, Cool! We’re definitely going tomorrow. Can’t wait.

  5. That is a beautiful looking resort. No, I haven’t seen Avatar yet. I’ll wait for your review. 🙂

  6. Bernard, It really is amazing. You should take the wife there some time. 🙂 I’m about to write up my review now. It was a beautiful film and a decent Dances with Wolves on an alien planet story. I get a feeling the movie would raise your blood pressure due to various story elements.
