Clash of the Titans

We went to see Clash of the Titans the other day. One word–BORING. I’d kind of hoped when they remade this movie that they’d kick up the story to match the effects (which weren’t very good btw). The special effects reminded me of stuff they were doing in the 80’s. Maybe that was purposeful. Maybe they were going for the vintage look. Shrug. All I know is that the only characters that you cared about were the two main women. Everyone else could live or die and it really didn’t matter. Sam what’s his name was about like he was in Avatar. Not many emotions. Not a lot of facial expressions. Deliver a line and walk on. I get that he’s kind of the king of the ‘every man’ right now. He’s being cast left and right like the actor Shia LeBeouf. What I don’t get is why?

If anyone out there can enlighten me, I’d appreciate it.

  1. Can’t say, I just wanna go see How to Train Your Dragon. : D

  2. Charli, We plan to catch that one this week. It looks cute.

  3. How to Train Your Dragon is awesome. We had a family day couple weeks ago to see it. Want to see it again, LOL

Haven’t had any desire to see Titans…looked as bad as the old version, LOL

  4. Sherri, I actually think this version might be worse. LOL!

Glad to hear that HTTYD is awesome. Can’t wait to see it.

  5. LOL Jordan…glad I wasn’t gonna pay money for it then!

  6. Sherri, Save your money. 🙂

  7. oh, no! It wasn’t any good????

  8. Shiloh, The pacing was really poor and the script was bad. I so wanted to like the movie. I really did, but you just didn’t care about any of the characters.

  9. Hmm, I’m loving Sam Worthington, he was the best thing about Terminator Salvation

I think he’ll grow into a better actor.

I just like looking at him. 🙂

  10. Vivi, I know a lot of people really like him. I hope he does get better.

I understand. Unfortunately, something about him reminds me of one of my cousins, so I can’t really see the ‘sexual’ appeal of him. LOL!

  11. OK, back from How to Train Your Dragon, and it’s fantastic. Can’t wait to own the DVD! Also met a nice family after the movie who told us it’s based on a whole series of books. I know what we’re reading with our kids this summer.

  12. Charli, We must have been on the same wave-length. We just got back from seeing How to Train Your Dragon, too. VERY cute. Loved it. I especially liked the ending. Thought it was quite brave to have the hero end up how he did. (Don’t want to spoil it for the folks who haven’t seen it.)

  13. Thanks for the review as always. I liked the first one anyway.

  14. Bernard, You are welcome.

I definitely liked the first one better, too.
