Chirp, Chirp, Chirp

I know you can hear crickets around here with all the silence happening. To be honest, I’ve been busy with life and I have been reading a LOT. I could’ve done without the surgery, but all is well. Despite that hiccup, I have quite enjoyed reading the books. I’ve been playing catch up on my TBR pile. It’s been daunting, but it’s nice to make some progress. Not as much as I’d like, but some.

Our trip is coming up fast. I can tell that I’m not going to be ready. At least I’m partially packed. My French isn’t where it should be or needs to be. I’m going to have to cram in the next couple of weeks. Gulp.

I found out that I’ll be getting the rights back on some of my old ebooks in a few months. I’m really happy about that. I can’t wait to dig in there and re-edit them. I’ll either make some covers (depending on how my skills are) or hire someone to design some.

I’ve been re-doing my agent list. Every time I think I have the final list I hear something or read something and have to scratch off a name. It’s very frustrating and disheartening.

On a completely different track, there are so many movies I want to see right now. Has anyone seen Despicable Me? Predator? Sorcerer’s Apprentice? I know Inception comes out Friday. It’s another one on my list. I’ve been home recovering, so I haven’t been able to go out. If you’ve seen any of these films and want to post a mini-review, feel free. 🙂

  1. Wha??? What surgery? I didn’t know you went in for anything.

But I hope you’re recovering all right.

Going to see Sorcerer’s Apprentice on Friday with the dd. so looking forward to seeing Inception. I think its going to blow minds.

Would like to see Predators because Adrien is looking tres buff. And I do have a bit of a crush on him. 😉

  2. Vivi,

Yeah, these things happen. I was hoping to avoid the whole surgery thing, but in the end it was really the only option. It was my choice.

Thanks, I’m feeling much better. It’s been a week, so I am definitely on the mend. It’ll be six weeks before everything is ‘back to normal’.

Let me know what you think of the films. I can’t wait to get to the theater. If I was allowed to drive, I’d be there already. 😉

  3. Husband gave Apprentice a huge thumb’s up. Predator he gave a miss. I’m hoping to get to see Apprentice soon myself. It’s always hard for both of us to get to a movie when it’s one we can’t take the kids to. Despicable Me is a good candidate for family outing.

  4. J, surgery is never easy. Sending you good healing vibes.

I was in the hospital with my girl a couple of weeks ago for about 12 days. She had pneumonia and it got complicated and scary. Her lungs filled up in like a day.

I just stopped having hospital nightmares. So I’m glad you didn’t have to spend time in there for long. Better to heal at home.

My girl’s good now. She’s almost fully healed.

  5. I want to see Inception soooo badly, but I’m not sure the toddler will enjoy it. Maybe I’ll set aside my own needs and let him see an actual kid’s movie, LOL.

  6. I saw ‘The Road’. I know, I’m way behind the new movie curve. 🙂 Well acted but one of the bleakest movies I can ever remember seeing. I’m glad you’re recovering. I hope you’re at a hundred percent before having to fly overseas. Man, I love hearing the French language even if it’s an insult. 🙂

  7. Charli,

I’ll be hitting all three. (wg) Thanks for the heads up.

  8. Thank you, V! I’m glad your girl is on the mend. Fortunately, I only had to stay overnight. Long enough for me. *ggg

I can’t wait to see Predator. At least Rotten Tomatoes is giving it a good review. YAY!

  9. Jackie U,

Yep, Inception is a must see for me. As for taking a toddler, I doubt they’d understand it…which means boredom…which also means not staying in the chair and possibly crankiness. 😉

  10. Bernard, I heard that about The Road. I couldn’t watch it. Those type of films won’t let me go once my senses absorb them. Not pretty.

Fortunately, we’re cruising, so I don’t have to worry about International flights for a while. 🙂

  11. Bernard,

You and me both on the French language. 😉
