I ‘think’ I have my formatting issues and uploading issues taken care of. I’m hesitant to say that I do because I’m afraid it’s going to come back and bite me in the butt. It took dh helping with style issues and switching to a different browser. (I’d already tried two before moving onto a third.) I appreciate your patience. With any luck, The Arrival will be available and looking pretty by tomorrow.
Now I’m off to workout and read through the novella. Hopefully it won’t take nearly as long as this has.
On a completely different note, has anyone seen Battlefield L.A. or the Little Red Riding Hood movie? If so, what did you think? I really want to see them both.

For some reason, I’m having difficulty getting The Arrival uploaded to Pubit/Barnes & Noble. It doesn’t matter which browser I use, nothing happens. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I’ve been playing with it and Smashwords all day today. Smashwords wrote me to tell me there was a formatting issue. I think I found it, but I’m not sure. I’ve uploaded The Arrival a few times now. It looked fine on Amazon Kindle, but I suppose that doesn’t matter in the scheme of things.
Found out some good news yesterday. I will be getting the rights back on my two Phantom Warriors books as of July 19, 2011. So VERY happy about that. I have a third novella started in that series and now I can finish it. YAY!
If you’ve purchased The Arrival, please let me know if you’re having difficulty reading it due to formatting issues. I truly hope that this latest uploaded version will take care of the issue.
I know I don’t say it often enough, but I truly do appreciate the friends I’ve made in this business. I cannot get over how kind and giving they truly are and how generous. It is something that should never be taken for granted.

I cannot tell you how glad I am that the weekend is over. It has been officially Hellalious. That’s the one thing that sucks about living so far away from family. There is no nipping over when you’re needed. Sigh. 🙁
I finally broke down and joined Twitter. You can find me HERE. I think I’m going to like it well enough. I certainly like the short message thing. I doubt I’ll become a Twitter slut, but I suppose stranger things have happened. 😉
Today I’m uploading ATLANTEAN’S QUEST: THE ARRIVAL to Smashwords, Kindle, and Barnes & Noble. My guess is that it’ll be up tomorrow. For those of you familiar with my series, I have greatly expanded the manuscript by nearly 10,000 words and made a few language choice changes. (ie I took out the words I never liked. *g) It will be released for .99. I hope you like the additions.

I wanted to share my new cover for Atlantean’s Quest: The Arrival. What do you think? Keep in mind that if you hate it you will not hurt my feelings because I still like it. 😉 Sorry that a little of the quote got cut off. It isn’t on the actual cover.

I had no idea that I’ve been gone from here for so long. Vroom…that’s time flying past my head at warp speed. Let’s see, what have I been doing? Trying to get taxes together, take care of upcoming birthdays, finishing edits, uploading manuscripts, having long conversations about agents, more edits… You get the picture. I’ve finished and uploaded my experimental 93,000 word urban fantasy manuscript. Decided to price it at $2.99 to start. If after a month, it’s not doing anything, then maybe I’ll drop the price. Haven’t really decided yet, since my 2.99 book seems to be selling better than my .99 book on Kindle. I’m typing in the edits to the follow up to Gothic Passions. I need to read through it one more time to make sure that I’ve caught everything, then send it off to a second pair of eyes. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it up by the beginning of next week, then it’ll be on to the urban fantasy romance I started last year.
On a personal note, I’m down another pound. Was hoping for two, like last week, but I’ll take it. It brings my total loss to 9lbs. I’m going to workout extra hard, so I can hit 10lbs by next Thursday. I still have a tremendous amount to go, but I’m trying to stay focused on slow and steady wins the race.
I’ve been thinking about writing a short tie-in (30 to 50K) to the Dead World series. This question is for those who’ve read the book/s. What would you like to see explored? Was there any character that you’d like to know more about? If so, who?

I finished with the edits on the urban fantasy novel. All I have to do is format it, then put it up for sale. This is the story that will not be going under my name. After the book has been out for a while, I’ll let everyone know (or if it doesn’t sell, I’ll change it to my name), but first I want to do the experiment. I’m starting in on Rose’s Rapture now. I
should will be done by tomorrow.
I am a little disappointed right now with Barnes and Noble. I’d probably be more so, but I’ve already been through this once with a writer’s organization. I’m a little desensitized. I really thought we’d moved past singling out specific self-pubbed genres. If you haven’t heard, Pub It has pulled ALL the excerpts from self-published erotic romances. (And by that I mean the ones that the authors upload themselves.) They have not however pulled the excerpts from small/large press published erotic romances. I’m baffled by the logic…because there is NONE. Right now, only erotic romance authors are up in arms. Most other self-published authors figure it doesn’t affect them. They are forgetting that it normally ‘starts’ with things like erotic romance, but it rarely ends there. What’s next? No excerpts from books that contain ‘bad’ words. (And who decides whether a word is bad or not?) No excerpts from books that contain graphic violence. (We all know that would never happen.) But it is a slippery slope. I do hope it’s an oversight, but I kind of doubt it. Like I said, I’ve been through this before.

Did you guys catch the episode of Supernatural last week? How great was that?!! I’ve been taping them all and have been behind on the episodes, but I couldn’t resist watching the latest episode after reading the blurb. The Winchester boys are tossed into a different dimension where they’re television stars. Yep, they become themselves (ie Jared and Jensen) on their real TV show…except they’re still the Winchester boys. Still following the logic? I watched it the first time and couldn’t stop laughing. It was just too funny. The inside jokes were flying. It was truly a written masterpiece. I didn’t realize that Jared had married ‘fake demon Ruby’ in real life, so I was shocked when she showed up and they had wedding pictures sitting on the mantel. I looked it up and found out they were real. I deleted the show, then pulled it out of the deleted folder so I could watch it again. It’s just that good. You don’t even need to have followed the show closely to appreciate the humor. If you didn’t catch it, find it online. It’s well worth the time.
