Endings and New Beginnings

I just got back from seeing Harry Potter. So many emotions, since I’ve been on this journey with these characters for so long. I have to say they did a really good job of pulling the story together on film and leaving the audience with a satisfying ending. Wasn’t sure if they were going to be able to do it, but they did. The wrap up is one of those movies that we’ll go see again at the theater and buy on DVD, but probably won’t watch often because it’s tough to watch something that you’ve grown to love being destroyed. Yes, I know it’s all make-believe, but it still hurt to see the school destroyed. Anyway, if you’re a Harry Potter fan, then this movie is a MUST see. If you are a fair-weather fan, then this movie is a MUST see. You get the picture. 😉

I finished my urban fantasy romance partial the other day and began to brainstorm my next YA fantasy. Thanks to Charli and Sasha, I have a great jumping off point. 🙂 I just have a few decisions to make…like what story am I trying to tell? You know little things like that. Snort!

What are you working on? Does it scare you? If not, why? (Oh, here’s a hint: It should.)

  1. husband and kids went to HP last night. They loved it. I must wait for DVD. Once baby slows down the constant eating, I look forward to insane and dangerous writing!

  2. Charli, I’m glad they got to go see it. I do hope you manage to make it to the drive-in and not have to wait for video. It’s definitely best on a very big screen. 🙂

    Write dangerously. 😀

  3. I hope it hits the Drive-in, and it probably will, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to handle staying out that late, since they do double features and start at 10. I’m barely getting 5 hours a night as it is. : O OTOH, if Zoe is going to be awake and eating from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. anyway…

  4. Charli, Are you telling me that you’re too old? *ggg 😉

  5. Thanks for the review. I’m working on a YA paranormal, and going to Alcatraz today for research on a scene. It’s not frightening though. 🙂

  6. Bernard, Enjoy the Rock. I tried to make it to the prison when I was there last month, but it was sold out. 🙁

As for being scared, that book you’re writing should be so challenging for you that it scares the pants off you. *g

  7. I’m definitely going to see it, and will buy it on DVD. Hopefully the crowds will lessen within a bit after this weekend. I want to go see it tomorrow. I know it will be heartbreaking, even the previews bring a lump to my throat.

  8. Sasha, It was good. We are going to wait a week or so, then go see it again. Just trying to decide right now whether to get Captain America tickets, while I wait for Cowboys vs. Aliens. 🙂

  9. The writing is exciting and fun. The editing is challenging, but still no threat to my pants. 🙂

  10. LOL Bernard! Then you’re doing something wrong. 😉
